... because I'm 'one of the we love h/g people' and I let H/L in. This is beyond ridiculous. Where did these people come from? Luna is a trollop now

I've had some crazy reviews at SIYE as well. But I didn't quit SIYE because of reviews - it was because the admins asked me tone down a chapter six months after it had been posted because someone else wanted to include a sex scene in their story and used my very nice, tasteful *love* scene as an example of pushing the boundries.
Anyway, Harry and Luna did go out on a "date" in HBP, so I don't know what the problem is. I could see them hanging out together - especially if poor Harry was at loose ends. Luna is sweet like that and Harry is so clueless that it makes sense even in AU world.
The beta process at Phoenix Song did my head in. I had an odd beta who didn't do a damn thing (didn't actually give feedback or the like) and never answered me. Drove me nuts, I stopped posting there as well due to the posting process. I find SIYE easy to use and since I got validated it's even easier. I used to find the readership just fine as well but I think someone let the crazies out this year ...
I think that story's dead in the water now anyway. The muse has either flown, died or buried herself.
Um...you do know an admin at PS who would be more than happy to help, if that's where you decide to go. (Seriously, you can just go through me, if you want. I know you still have to wait for me to upload/post it there, but it normally won't take too long.)
ff.net is a bit of a pain, but it's not horrible once you get used to it.
And if you cross-post when you post on LJ, you get more readers. There are a bunch of communities where you can post links to your fics as you write them.
(I just really don't want you to stop writing, Kezza. You're one of my favorites--your humor is always just what I love to read.)
I posted the entirety of RL at ff.net. It still did my head in! I gave up about 3 chapters into I'll Be There For You. It got too much.
I did give PS a try but I didn't feel like I fit there either. I probably just don't fit anywhere. I thought i fit at SIYE but now it feels like I don't fit.
I actually added your journal to my favorites coz I thought you'd post here first. Anyhow, why are you getting so bugged about some negative reviews on SIYE. If poor JKR could be told that she was actually writing Harry/Hermione all along and then betrayed her fans by changing it to h/g...then you should certainly take your h/l criticism, shrug and move on
( ... )
You can't leave us hanging. That would be cruel. I got where you were going with the Luna remark. Just ignore the crazies and realize they are probably 12 year old girls. And don't respond to them. I think it validates them in some way. Perhaps you need a collaborator to bounce ideas off of and get your muse working again.
Wow...not to say that I don't focus on some insignificant detail in a fic which could turn me off of the fic, but that's when you just stop reading it. Makes me wonder if these reviewers only dated one person in their RL (or have they dated at all?) and makes me very glad I am not a fictional charactor.
I don't blame you for having muse issues because of this...this is obviously very distracting. However, could editing the summary to include a warning (ie: this fic contains a mention of PAST H/L) which may scare off of the crazies and reassure the boardline psychos that it is really inconsequential?
I hope your muse comes back and muscles through H/L hating nut cases!
I also feel that it's not the thing that needs to be included in a review. By all means, be squicked, stop reading but make the review about the quality of the piece, not your personal limits.
I love this story and I love the way you write. I even like Harry and Luna together. I've gone over to SYIE to look at the reviews and most of what I see are good reviews. I agree with the people here, ignore the idiots and keep going. If you need someone to bounce ideas off of, I'll try and stay away for you to do that. I'm always happy to help. Don't let a few idiots ruin something you love doing.

It's not that I don't want to finish the fic it's that I don't think I can.
And where would I post it if I did finish it? (It'd be rubbish anyway ...)
