Bert nods, and glances at the pack, fishing in his pocket. "I appreciate the offer, but--" he holds up his tobacco pouch, and then sets about rolling a cigarette of his own.

The couch is taken.
Jack eyes the remaining space, considering it carefully, one hand going to his hat and tilting the brim down.
There's not really quite enough room. Jack opts for the cushy chair opposite the couch instead, pulling out a cigarette philosophically.
"Afternoon."
