However, CVS/Caremark notified me that they've shipped it, so it should be here by early next week. I went to my optometrist this morning, which is a simple trip as the office is only a few blocks away down the street where I live, and therefore an 8:15 AM appointment wasn't difficult. My initial delivery of Ozempic was two injection pens. The first one that I used had four doses (you take it once a week), so I figured the second pen would have four as well. I was wrong. For the past several days, I have had increasing pain above my left cheek, in the sinus area. Neither aspirin nor ibuprofen made much of an impact upon it. I elected to go to the Fernley Urgent Care clinic, which opens at 9 AM on Sunday. My doctor's office ordered a metabolic panel because we're just over halfway through the initial course of Ozempic plus a potassium supplement. Unfortunately, because it's highly impractical for lab results to move between medical systems, that meant I needed to go to the nearest Sutter Health lab, which is in Roseville, 150 miles from Fernley. Today was Lisa's birthday. This evening, we drove to Reno and had dinner at the Manhattan Deli at the Atlantis Hotel-Casino, at which some of you may have eaten during the Reno Worldcon. I had half of a pastrami sandwich and a cup of matzo ball soup, while Lisa just had the matzo ball soup. It's been a long time since we both ate here together. ( Read more... )

This afternoon, we hooked up the utility trailer and drove to Big R Ranch & Home to collect the pallet of 390 Pres-to-Logs that I bought on Friday. We got home, parked out front, and decided to try and unload some of them despite the cold. Lisa's shoulder is better, but she still must not use it, as a rotator cuff tear needs a long time to heal.
