Last Day

I spent yesterday taking it as easy as I possibly could and applying copious amounts of ointment to my badly-sunburned legs. Note to self: Do not ever again wear shorts or go swimming during bright, sunny days without applying lots and lots of the high-goop-factor sunscreen. I think this is probably the second-worst sunburn I've ever had in my life ( Read more... )

Get a Small Bottle of Aloe?
And also try to get some Topical anesthetic if you aren't allergic. Lidocaine is real popular. Lidocaine laced Aloe is best. That will stop the pain and help the healing.

I'm puzzled by the concept of metric-only measuring cups, because all of the metric-measurement recipes that I have seen use weight, not volume.

Metric recipes use weight for dry goods, but volume for liquids. This is because only the former are compressible.

Actually, volume also for things like flour, sugar, spices, etc. (At least in these parts of the world.)

Indeed, it is common to do baking without using scales. Often the only ingredient specified in weight is butter, which in NZ comes in 500g blocks with 50g marks on the wrapper. One cup is 250ml, volume measures that aren't fractions of cups are rare but not unknown IME - we use clear marked (in cups and ml and often imperial) jugs for those.

Yes _ I've had that sunburn. Warnings to wear sunscreen on the barrier reef never seem to make quite as much sense until you have also had the sunburn and start to understand why people who have been there kept saying "Wear sunscreen"
Hope you don't suffer too much (We figured that C3PO walked the way he did cause he had sunburn on his back...)
