Before writing about our second day in Reykjavik, I think I need to correct something about our first day, specifically the brunch that Lisa and I had that morning. In yesterday's entry, I accidentally said that the buffet cost of 4900 kr was about $71. I've now corrected that. It was 4900 kr per person, and the total 9800 kr for two people was $71

I don't know whether you're aware, but as well as being friendlier according to the locals, Bónus is the cheapest chain, with prices up to 86% cheaper for some items than the same items sold elsewhere. The price range of the largest chains goes, cheapest first, Bónus, Krónan, Nettó, Hagkaup, 10-11, with a few smaller shops like Samkaup Strax, Krambúð and Iceland (the latter famous for its huge pick and mix candy department) dotted here and there.
