More Yard Work

There were no excuses to keep me from getting to work on what promises to be a never-ending project: clearing the East Lot of weeds, at least along the defense line between it and the fence that separates it from the original house.

We had a tree fall that just barely hit the house two years ago. But it did occupy a lot of the side yard. So over the course of several weekends, I cut it into manageable pieces and piled them up into a thick tangle between our neighbor and ours yards. I had semi intentionally created a nice habitat for the various small furry critters in the area. To the point that our local coyote started making our yard a regular stop in the nightly patrol route.

We intend for now to keep the "wildlife reserve" part of the lot the way it is, while only removing the weeds and such on the side of the lot closer to the original house, for fire defense.
