Worldcon 2021 Trip Day 19: Killing Time in Chicago

Dec 24, 2021 18:00

On Friday (Christmas Eve), Lisa and I took full advantage of our 17th floor suite at the Crowne Plaza, checking out just before 2 PM and storing our luggage on a cart with the hotel. We then went out for a wander.

One of the reasons I often use Lyft or Uber is that the amount is displayed ahead of time. Another is that the charge automatically goes to the credit card on file which means not needing to get out my wallet and possibly drop the wallet or something out of my pocket. I did use a taxi my last day in DC because it was already available at the hotel however it was an annoyance when I needed to pay directly rather than just being able to get out and deal with it on my phone when I was inside the building. There seems to be an app called Curb which is supposed to have most of the functionality as Lyft or Uber but for setup for taxi cabs. I will probably give it a try and see if it works.
