optimystik and I went to the doctor on saturday because he is sick and he needs referrals for other stuff. He's got tonsillitis. I seem to be doing ok, though, but that's because I've been sleeping when I'm tired (and I've been excessively tired the past couple of days), have been staying well away from sweet things like ice cream, even when my partners are ( Read more... )

How Timely your post is! I was just going to open my email to send you a note asking about details for tommorow. Would you like us to bring anything? Is there anything we can do? Are we still good for seven pm? And of course the whole directions thing...

Let us know, we're very excited about coming over!

=-)

I was just rereading some RJ Stewart last night. (His Four Cities journey, which is what I was looking for when I got that unfortunate "gorillas" result. [grin]) I'm going to take "The Underworld Initiation" to Volunteer Park where all the crows are, and flop down under the trees and read it.

Happy birthday!

LOL, I don't even know what Moo's astrological sign is. I know he's a Monkey on the Chinese calendar (I'm a Monkey too).

Moo is a Leo :D (I pretty much knew that just from reading about him/ meeting him the one time, but I double checked just to be sure!)

Wow! Flood of words.

I'm glad things seem to be going well in your part of creation.

Making a baby can't be that hard -- when we were teenagers, they warned us it could happen every time! ;) Seriously, I'm very impressed by how much thought you've put into this. Though it also makes me more certain it's probably not going to be for us (which we were pretty certain of, anyway).

Paneer = goodness.

Wow! Flood of words.

yeah... I do that.

re babymaking: is your wife charting her cycles? Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler is amazingly helpful in learning to determine when a woman's most and least fertile times are in each cycle.

And as far as putting a lot of thought into things, it's what I do. I'm Research Queen. I like to learn, especially about anything to do with pregnancy, health, and nutrition. It's my quintissential virgo nature paired with my dissecting year-of-the-snake mind -- watch out world! [grins] oh yeah, and I like astrology, in case that wasn't blazingly obvious. :)

She was charting them for a while ... she's sort of lapsed on that. We're more trying to do the opposite -- keep from conceiving without her having to take the pill, which doesn't agree with her -- so we do what we can to keep track. And use condoms when necessary, and so on.

And yes, I noticed -- and I was only saying it because I was impressed. :)

The sweet thing about charting with FAM is that you can effectively use it for both contra- and conception. Right now, I'm using it for contraception, but in another couple of cycles, I'll be switching over for conceptive purposes.

FAM was originally devised for contraception (with 98% accuracy when used correctly).

Maybe it's that I'm a virgo and therefore love charts and numbers, but I really dig charting my cycles. It's certainly not for everyone, but it's good to know when I don't have to use condoms with sex and when I really really should! I like knowing what's going on without having to rely on hormones. I will never ever ever go back on hormones. They suck!

Best of luck to you and your wife!

When we started trying, I thought I was going to have a little Leo, too :) But I kinda wanted a Leo (my moon is in Leo -- I think Rem's moon is in my sun sign, tho, Sag, which is another neatness altogether). C'st la vie :D We get what we get!

my moon's in leo, too!

yeah, I keep reminding myself not to be so hung up on the sun sign when there are SO MANY other influences in the astrological chart, not to mention the billion OTHER influences, as well.

I should be putting my energy into focusing on an awesome relationship with my future baby and not worrying about when s/he is born. stupid virgo nature, getting hung up on the little things. duh.

It's easy when you're first starting to TTC (try to concieve) or even thinking about it to start daydreaming about these kinds of things... and it is good, to a certain extent :D But yeah, there are a TON of other influences, astrological and more...

One of the reasons why in Hebrew we don't say "Mazel Tov" (good luck) when someone is pregnant, we say, "B'Sha'ah Tovah," which means "May your child be delievered in a good hour." :D
