I am currently reading Where the Spirits Ride the Winds: Trance Journeys and Other Ecstatic Experiences by Felicitas Goodman. I LOVE it. Big, huge, flashing-neon-letter love with sparkles

I love Hossam Ramzy's "Sabla Tolo" cd - it's all drum solos and it's done by a Middle Eastern tabla master. It's quite fast though, I don't know how appropriate it would be for a trance. If you want, amble over to Amazon.com's listing and have a listen, then if you like it I'll email you the cd.
Thanks! I'll check it out at Amazon. I love tabla music!
Music that is specifically designed to induce trance is usually quite monotonous: a continuous, steady, rhythmic beat that goes on for varying lengths of time; no chorus, no backbeats, no other instruments, no variation in beat tempo. It's drum-based or rattle-based white noise, essentially. It's very boring to listen to for entertainment purposes.
Awesome, for both book and creative streaks. [grin] I look forward to seeing whatever you do with your hair, and very much look forward to hanging out with you and yours next weekend.
