RE: Torchwood.  I watched up to episode 6 now, and I must say that 5 & 6 are SIGNIFICANTLY better than 1-4.  I'm still not sure that I like it; there's a bit too much ~*~angst~*~ and ~*~sexual drama~*~ in it right now, when I'd prefer wholesome character development and interesting adventures, but we'll see.  I'm not totally adverse to watching ( Read more... )

I want really badly to like Martha, but I just can't. But this is mainly because she was the first companion after Rose and therefore had so much to live up to in my book. And she just didn't do it for me. I'm sure a large part of it was due to the fact that I was still all "ROOOOSE!" when I first watched Martha's season, but I don't know ... the connection (both with the Doctor and this might sound cheesy, but with me) wasn't there.

But yes, she does have some really kick-ass moments and when she isn't angsting over the Doctor (I looove that part in Journey's End where she says to Rose "oh my god, he found you?"), she is so much better as a character. Although like you said, I can't exactly fault her for being in love with the Doctor, haha.

And oh TORCHWOOD. Stick around until season two - it gets so good. I think the creators would like to pretend that season one was nothing but a bad, bad dream.

Haha, I love them too. Except I have a tendency to be rambly and extremely incoherent (more so than usual) and I never catch my mistakes. So if you actually understand me, you should congratulate yourself or something, haha.
