Slipping into Fall

Sep 13, 2007 10:31

I had my second-round interview yesterday and I think it went well, but I'm worried that I didn't do enough to sell myself while talking to the hiring manager.  I'm just trying not to get my hopes up too much but I'd love to have this job.  They'll be making the decision by the end of next week, so please keep your fingers crossed for me!

Fingers crossed for the job! What kind of position is it?

As for the mattress situation, I was in the same boat as you a month ago. I ended up buying a new one and I LOVE IT! I daydream about it at work - LOL. It's called the Sealy Posturepedic Moonrise Bay (comes in plush or firm -- I have firm) with built-in memory foam. I think the queen size (with boxspring) was $799. The thing about mattresses though is the companies change the names for every store in order to prevent consumers from comparison shopping. So as a starting point, maybe you can check out Sealy Posturepedics and go from there...

It's a marketing & pr position for a small private company. They just got acquired by a company based in Ireland, so they want to start cross selling each other's catalog of classes. Both are e-learning companies that offer a catalog of classes for Fortune 500 companies.

Do you find that the memory foam keeps you warmer than a mattress without it? Bill usually is really warm when he sleeps and often sweats a lot. I've heard that memory foam doesn't let body heat dissipate as easily.

Sounds like an interesting company. Maybe you can secretly sign up for the classes for free as an employee?!

The memory foam doesn't make me feel warm. I forgot to mention that the memory foam is not the top layer. It is buried under a few things. So it provides cushiony comfort without the heat. I'm really being technical as you can tell! :)

Don't you love it? It grows so quickly, though and I have to cut it almost completely back every year.

fingers Xd for the job!

we have a king size mattress that is like a tempurpedic but has a base layer of coils as well. we bought our mattress from a local place and it was not one of the more well-known brands, but we've had it for over 3 years now and have no problems out of it. i cant' remember the name...it's either queen or princess something.

that will be a pretty blanket!

Do you find that the tempurpedic material retains heat? Bill often sweats while he's sleeping and frequently complains about being too hot.

We have a queen-sized Serta that is pretty comfortable (from the Sam's on Hilliard-Rome Rd), and our spare room bed (full, currently in storage) is from the Original Mattress Factory in Columbus. We really like both of them-- I think I'd probably use OMF again.

Did OMF have good prices? I'm sort of against buying a mattress from a place where I can't test it out first.
