Silly me, and my fucked-up head

So I was sitting on the couch this morning eating a baked potato, wondering what I did to the right side of my jaw... It's tender and swollen, and hurts when I talk or chew. Earlier I passed it off as a consequence of the fact that I grind my teeth at night, but as I was finishing up tonight's comic I suddenly remembered that yesterday, I'd punched ( Read more... )

Study martial arts again. Or some other physical activity -- maybe jogging to and from work.

Seriously, the discipline of martial arts is what helped my own rage issues. Rob might like to joke about my temper, but I haven't lashed out at myself or a person ever since I first started studying such things.

It might also be nice to find a safe inanimate object to take the anger out on. The Bowflex might be a good compromise, or some kind of punching bag (besides Rob, or yourself).

My sister is on Depo (I think it's the same stuff, she gets a shot of BC in the butt. I try to ignore it)
She wound up going through horrendous mood swings and hot flashes that turned her into an angry beast, so we sent her back to the doctor, now she takes some pill to help balance all of that out hormonally, and she's been a lot better...
Perhaps its just the levels of hormones messing up your innards?

Whatever is causing it, please feel better soon!

While Depo can change your mood because it is fooling your body into believing you are pregnant, I don't think that is the case. You really should make an appointment at the Bert Nash center. They have a good staff of both counselors and psychiatrists that could help. I'm not going to twist your arm (yet), but it is a viable option to take up.

A lot of forms of birth control have the effect of making women a bit more angsty than usual, but this sounds a bit more extreme than just being snipey or angsty. I think two really good suggestions have been made that are worth trying - taking up martial arts again (or jogging), or talking to someone about these sudden mood swings and trying to pinpoint what could be really causing them.

*snuggles* I understand a little of what you're experiencing, and I hope you can find a way to handle it :) In the meantime, take care - there are plenty of people who love you and want to help you handle this :)
