The Adventures of Addison Barros, Celebrity Relic-Hunter [3.1]

Jan 01, 2011 20:25

Hey everyone, and welcome back to the two-part third chapter of Addison's adventures. I've noticed that the chapters are getting progressively larger, and this one was so much bigger than normal that I needed to divide it. So, without further ado, I hope you enjoy the first half of this chapter. :)

After Addison returned from her last trip I had to kill time before she was allowed to go on her next one, so I had her record a commercial at the business towers for celebrity points (it was an opportunity), and then I sent her to the Bridgeport Eternal Rest Cemetery, neither of which I recorded because I'm a dumb shit.

Lucky for me, the game crashed so NBD. Except, when I went to redo it, I forgot (again) to take pictures of her celebrity opportunity. So here's some grave picspam:

I had her tour the catacombs but she had ~horrifying experiences.
Doesn't seem to have much luck with them, does she?

After being somehow burnt to a crisp in said catacombs, I noticed this tomb at the edge of the graveyard and had her go explore. Turns out it was just a vampire bar. I was disappoint.

I love celebrity opportunities! Gives Addison a chance to ~get out and interact with the people.~

TRIP TIEM~ :D
(Except China this time, not France.)

Welcome to Shang Simla, China (I think the real-life version is Shangri-La?)! I've gotta say, I like this town a lot better than I liked the one in France (though, France did have awesome tombs and the boobie-trap-house, which I must say I'm fond of).

But then again, you know me; I love Asians.~~~ :P

Anyway, I'd looked up help for WA online, to figure out how to get to some of the things in France that I couldn't access, and found out that in order to get to this little island in the middle of the water, Addi had to be able to teleport - which she could only learn in China, by learning martial arts (mainly the reason I sent her to China in the first place). So I sent her right to the academy to train in Martial arts, and got her right up to the 5th skill point - coincidentally, the amount she needs to be able to have to teleport.

I am good.~~~

Oh yeah, and the paparazzi followed her there.

I love that they're so ~ethnically correct and have all the Chinese people wearing little hats. Because everyone in China does that. Totes.

So Addison's first adventure was to retrieve this relic from the tomb under the art museum, which I eagerly took. I think raiding tombs is, like, my favourite part of WA (except for the boobie-trap-house!).

Raiding picspam:

Found the relic!

And completed the tomb! Hells yeah!
(Note: this was the easiest China tomb thus far; the rest of them are bitches.)

And after completing the opportunity, Addison got her first level Chinese visa!

Just look at that face; isn't she the cutest, silliest sim you've ever seen? I LOVE HER.

After completing her opportunity, Addison went to the special gardens to meditate, and got to the state where she could teleport or, as the game calls it, "zeneport" (whatever floats their boats...). I had her teleport to this place called The Dragon's Maw, which I had looked at ahead of time and knew was a tomb.

Five seconds after getting there she gained entrance to the tomb and headed down the stairs. Exploring picspam starts now:

Unfortunately for me, The Dragon's Maw proved to be too difficult a tomb for me to raid in one go. Addi got to this room that had no obvious (or secret) exit, and when I used a special potion thing to determine what "secrets the room held" the game pointed to a statue, which she pushed around fruitlessly for hours.

And then before I could do anything, Addi's vacation was up and she got forced onto a plane back to Bridgeport. I hate life.

Back in Bridgeport, I treated Addi to a taste of the ~celebrity life that she'd been missing out on. She went out on the town, drank cocktails at one of the clubs she owned, hung out with ~her people, and flirted with the bartenders. (She's faithful, I swear, but every time I call Tom Wordy when she's home from a vacation he "doesn't feel like coming over right now.")

Oh, and after she finished up with her ~nightlife she got this spontaneous want to fish, so I sent her down to the river to do just that. She then got an opportunity for another cameo. :)

Good job, girl!

WOOOOOOOOOOO~

I sent Addi out clubbing again that night and she ran into this major celebrity named Matthew Hammond who, coincidentally, had been her boss when she had that short-lived stint as an extra in the film career. Anyway, socializing with and impressing Hammond led her to superstardom. Go Addi!

Downside: (SPOILERS!) people bother her all the time, especially on her vacation. It pisses me the fuck off.

Anyway, I figured that Addison deserved a change of clothes since she's been wearing the same ones for a really, really long time. Here are her new outfits!

And now we're off to China again :D

The first thing Addi did when she got to Shang Simla was to head right to The Dragon's Maw again, but after some web-searching I realized that she can't fully explore it right now. Sad face.

I then sent her to The Terracotta Army, where I knew there was another tomb. Sadly, after going down the stairs I realized that the first door had to be opened by a key that she didn't have. Another sad face.

I then sent her to the graveyard because she hadn't explored that yet.

Poor Addi just has no luck with catacombs!

Anyway, there was literally nothing else in the graveyard so I sent her up to the Temple of Heaven, where I figured there might be tombs. I was right.

Score!

Anyway, enjoy some more picspam because I can't be assed to caption it all:

And that's all for this half of the chapter. The other half should be up in, like, an hour or so because it takes me a billion years to write them up. :P
