ALA 2010, part two

Before leaving the Convention Center to head to Georgetown on Saturday afternoon, I stopped by the Scholastic Book Fairs booth, where Linda Sue Park was signing. Let me just say this about Linda Sue Park: she has a fantastic sense of style. This photo doesn't do justice to the dress she had on, which had an asymmetrical zipper set down the front.

Sounds like so much fun! I'm in awe that you met Katherine Paterson. She's like a mythical creature in my mind. I also just love Tobin Anderson - I've heard him speak a few times and he is just so smart and funny. Thanks for sharing!

About Katherine Paterson: I pretty much introduced myself, thanked her for her books, and tried not to slobber or hyperventilate.

And your take on Tobin seems dead on to me - he was both smart and funny. Probably one of the smartest guys I've met, and as I went to a top 10 law school once upon a time, that's saying something.

On the plus side: no laundry today. It wasn't really necessary. On the down side, I got pretty much nothing done at all, but I scored a monster nap. Tomorrow is a full day of writing, though, so I guess it's good to get myself rested up. (With any luck I'll avoid the flare that I think might be heading my way.)
