Hoggywartyxmas Recs, 2020 Edition
The glorious hoggywartyxmas fest has finished posting for another year. As usual, the quality of the entries is stellar. I'm restricting myself to reccing five stories and two artworks, but truly, I could have chosen many more.
Every time I think that the HP world is totally tapped out, that not another original or interesting word can be written about it. . .hoggywartyxmas comes along and proves me wrong.
I've already recced my wonderful gift in this post here, so I am not counting it among the five. (Yeah, a little cheat, but the US faced an insurrection yesterday -- one incited by the fucking actual PRESIDENT of the damned country. So I'm entitled.)

A well-written story in the classic vein of MM/SS: snark, tension, complexity, bittersweetness, wit.

(Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape, Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank, Poppy Pomfrey, Pomona Sprout, Filius Flitwick, Madam Malkin; brief appearance by Hagrid and mention of Malfoys; G)
What happens with the wizarding world experiences a pandemic of "Corvid"? You might not like the Muggle counterpart of the virus, but you will adore this wizarding version -- and you'll recognize every spot-on detail. This is witty, inventive satire and parody at is absolute best. A real gem of a story; I loved it.
