I think it would be easier to go to more cons if they were spread out more. The three I went to this year were:
Lunacon (March) Readercon (July) WFC (November)
That's a very neat every-four-months schedule. I would like to go to Ad Astra more often, but it usually within a week of Lunacon, and I'm kind of committed to Lunacon as I'm buds with the programming people.
I don't think I've been to both WC and WFC in one year (or if I did, it was only once or twice), because they're not more than 12 weeks apart, ever, and often as little as 8 weeks.
One year I did GenCon and Worldcon in one year. Back-to-back cons. We drove to Denver, came home long enough to do laundry and repack, then went to Indy for Gencon. So fun, but by the end I was so exhausted.
Bummed I missed your reading. But fun time all around! Word on the Street is super fun--must remember backgammon and vivisection and all those other "scientific" terms for body parts and functions.
