Shake, Rattle and Roll...

Just had an earthquake over here! Only a 2.0 but my stomach is still lurching a little as it lasted for about a minute or so. Not to mention we live on the 13th floor (12th by British standards). I can only imagine what it must feel like for those living on the 21st floor ( Read more... )

I hope you had a lift to get up to the 18th floor. A friend of mine in China lived in a 20th floor apartment but the lift in the building would stop working at 9pm or so. That was one long trek down the stairs...I only wonder how he managed to walk all the way back up.

It's only 2.0?? Though my office is on the 5th floor, I felt it shook quite strongly and the painting on the wall almost fell. Imagine, how did those people in Taipei101 feel?

That's the figure I got from the seismic report here (it could be over 2.0, though, as it's not very accurate).

Being on the higher floors of 101 must be awful. I know the building has a huge counterweight to help against the sway but still... :S

I think the epicentre was out at sea so the east side of the island got most of the shaking. Thankfully the north-west is a little safer so we're all OK over here. :)
