and now you know why my father (the teabagged, and yes i say that deliberately) is not now, and has not been for a long time now, able to send me email.

he sends this crap to TheEngineer, who is a libertarian. i ask him "so what idiocy has that idiot sent you today?" ;)

LOL
The psychotically pathetic PS to this is that, after not only posting this to LJ, Facebook, AND MySpace, and forwarding copies in emails to both of the people who sent me this thing, one of them just sent me an invitation to some military support page on FB.
*head persplodes*

now dont get me wrong, i DO support the troups. my dad is retired navy, my brother is retired navy, my son wants to be air force. i GET it. i get that even as long ago as 20 years ago an enlisted man with 2 kids, a wife and living ON BASE...qualified for food stamps. any increase in the military spending budget goes to the big toys. not even to better armor for the guys in the field ( ... )

Right. And I also support the people in our military. I was (almost) a Marine (long story). I do believe that all members, current and past, deserve medical benefits.

Here are some actual things that Obama has said about our forces ( ... )

The optimistic version of my theory is this:

The Principle of Conservation of Intellect on the Internet:
For every person who gets smarter by way of something they read, hear, or see on the internet, there is an equal and opposite "dumbening" effect in someone else.

What makes this optimistic is the word "equal." In reality the effect is probably amplified by... who knows how much, 5x? 10x? 1000x?

Again, Idiocracy.
The part that is the most scary, is that is has apparently, finally, infected my F-lists.

Send them this, like I sent to my father-in-law: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/veteranshealth.asp

Sorry, I'd comment more, but I spent all afternoon fighting the "why, when you display no grasp of the first amendment when you're trying to ban a mosque from being built I call you stupid" fight.

Honey... I did send that, and the two other disputes of it on two other websites, as indicated in the 2nd paragraph of my post. :P

But yeah, that mosque thing... ZOMG I was deleting those emails and site invites a couple of weeks ago. That's why I've just completely lost my patience with all of it.

Wasn't the Internet supposed to make people smarter???

Make. People. Smarter.

Yeah.

And sorry, I must have skimmed over the part where you linked to snopes. Mea culpa.

No. You have to send it to twenty people, to make up for your anti-American, nationalized health care, gunless, commie ways.

PS
