This was beautiful and you took the reader through a lot of emotions with the characters. And I hate to say this because you are a fantastic writer and yet, I feel like there was a great story here but we kinda skimmed over it. What the characters go through here is huge and life-altering but they seem to stay slightly detached from what's happening.
