Alabama Shakes puts on one hell of a show. No butt-wagging, no cleavage or minidress or sparkly getups, no gratuitous headbanging (unlike the first opening act). Just five musicians and one hell of a voice -- Brittany Howard sings with everything she's got. The genre is something called roots rock, which is part blues, part country, part folk. So glad you had a wonderful time. As for In-N-Out, I have to admit that on more than one occasion, their late hours and milkshakes were the only reason I made it home safely after 14 hours of work with an 80-mile commute in front of me. ::grins::

RF mentioned In-N-Out on the road home, and I suddenly craved a cheeseburger -- I hadn't eaten anything in twelve hours -- so we went to the closest one in Long Beach and ate in the car on the way to her house. Quality noms.

I'm following both bands I mentioned by name on Twitter so I can keep track of their music and local performances. I'd gladly see either again in a heartbeat!
