I may never get to Chattanooga again.
Last time I was in the state I spent a good bit of time every day with my Papaw. He had just moved himself into an assisted living center, been unwell, and then gotten bad news about his health. So even though I had mentioned in LJ that I hoped to come down to see friends (and Cat had expressed an interest) I spent no more time in Chattanooga in September than the minimum required at the airport.
This time I really hoped to see Cass whom I haven't seen in ages. But I can't remember the last time I saw Aeryn. He couldn't meet up yesterday and tonight shouldn't go any further than Cleveland. So it looks like we'll be able to have dinner together, but once again, beloved Chattanooga will be denied me.
*off to cut and split more firewood*
That's the post I was going to make on Saturday. Instead, after cutting firewood, Aseryn let me know he was in Chattanooga after all.
So, we went to Lupi's (whose website doesn't seem to be working) for the best calzones ever.
Late I walked across
The Walnut St. Bridge to North Chattanooga where I used to run and play as a college kid.
IIn North Chattanooga I played on the sidewalk (more later), smoked a
great cigar, and then had some fabulous pumpkin ice cream at
Clumpies.
I did take a handful of my own pictures over the weekend. Maybe I'll post one or two soon.
