My trip (and one more little thing to be thankful for)
So, I mentioned in the gratitude post that I'm in Ten Mile...
I piddled around after work and didn't end up leaving until midnight:30 to avoid traffic. I would have made great time but 1) it took me 30 minutes to get gas around Staunton, VA ** and 2) I could NOT stay awake.
Somewhere around mile 55 in VA I stopped at a rest area and slept for an hour in the car. As I drove on I was still falling-down-exhausted so when I hit the Tennessee State line I pulled off at that rest area and slept again. I ended up getting here after 10:00. Though after having my 11:00 a.m. Corona I slept again from noon til about 5:15. I suppose it's just as well. I never get to sleep at a reasonable time here anyway. This time staying up late with my brother shouldn't be a problem since I'm so well rested. :^) ** - I got off at exit 227 where there were 4 gas stations. All of them were closed. I got to exit 225 where there were NO gas stations. (At this point I really needed gas.) Luckily a local, who I asked for directions at a light, went out of his way to lead me to a Sheetz station at exit 222. So, now I know.
