ooooh, this one is way cool!! I love dangerous!Fraser, and Jack's sympathy for Ray. Nice body language. This would make a good series :)

Thank you gloriana! I'm pleased that the body language came through, since I had to cut out a lot of the description to meet the word limit. Some snippets are full stories, but I think you're right, this is more of a teaser.

Oh my God, what did you do to Ray? And wow, your Fraser here--he's so tightly controlled. It's like he's near the breaking point.

Fraser nodded. “No need to apologize. In extraordinary circumstances, each man must follow his duty. And his heart. It’s been an honor serving with you, Jack.” He held out his hand.

That is so Fraser!

typo that might screw up your word count: I flinched back, but it just Fraser.

Yeeeeah, Ray's not in good shape here. And neither's Fraser, for that matter. But he's determined to keep it together until the end.

And thanks for the catch, I fixed it. I feel like a pro-snippeteer; knew just what word would have to go.

Wow this was terrific. And definitely a teaser - I totally want more.

I love that Jack asked about Ray, and Fraser's response to his apology was wonderful. And the end was just... ouch.

Fraser has a homemade cure for Kampala Syndrome though - I just know it. *holds on to hope for the boys*

Thank you, mizface! Of course Jack asked. I picture Fraser doing what needs to be done to care for Ray and keep him from harming anyone, constantly listening to CBC radio. (US being under government control and not very reliable) He's hoping for news that a cure's been found, even if he doesn't truly believe that it will.

Oh that was great!

'It's Ray's,' Fraser said. His voice was tainted with a strange, dangerous laughter. 'I had to confiscate it. We have strict gun control laws in Canada.'
Poor Fraser, he's barely holding together, but I suppose seeing your friend turn into the undead will do that.

Ack! Peaches, that last line is devastating! Oh god. *sobs and sobs* Also, cool idea. I find zombie!fics really distressing, and this little snippet is a perfect example of the reasons why. Excellent writing, but the concept is so heartbreaking. *sobs some more*

Yes, I am a very delicate flower.

I don't find the zombie apocalypse amusing. It's not the shambling hordes that bother me, it's these terrible choices. Thank you for letting me know how it affected you, Nos! *offers soothing Earl Grey tea*

It's not the shambling hordes that bother me, it's these terrible choices.

Which is why I love this kind of stuff. Will those choices break your character? Bend them a little? Shatter them beyond all hope of repair? Or make them stronger?
