Challenge 6: Big Shot Showrunner Part 1 - The Pitch
Reunion follows a group of friends, and some enemies, meeting up again at their college reunion. The main group consists of Ashley, Robert, Olivia, Kate, and William. The group hasn’t kept in contact over the years. Old friendships are tested, while new friendships, or maybe more, are formed. (second half of the synopsis is after the characters)
Characters/Icons
Ashley, a creative writing graduate, who wrote one good book, but has been blocked ever since. She never wanted to go to parties, and preferred staying in and watching a film or reading a book, but she was close friends with Kate.
Kate, a cheerleader who studied fashion and always knew when the good parties were happening. After graduation, she started her own boutique where she focused on finding and selling similar items to what characters wear on tv. Kate very briefly dated William.
William, a frat guy who was kind to everyone he met, even Ashley, who hated him the moment they met. He was always happy and made the best of every situation. Even after Kate broke up with him, he still wanted to be her friend. He always tried to make friends with everyone, even Ashley’s friends, including Olivia. He smoked, drank, and partied too much, but he was never quick to judge, and could make friends with anyone.
Olivia, a film studies major who dreamed of becoming a film critic. She went on to get her PhD and became more of a film scholar. She maintained her enjoyment of film and would show films in her classes that other professors would never admit they liked. She loved finding the moments worth teaching in films frequently disregarded. Olivia’s best friend was Robert.
Robert, a business and marketing major who Kate hated because he never liked any of the fashion pieces she made. He loved film and wanted to be a stand-up comedian, but his family pushed him in the direction of business. He studied often, but still made time to party and try to make his friends laugh whenever he could. He is now a successful CEO at an advertising agency. He still wants to be a comedian, but likes his job, especially the more creative projects he has created.
Synopsis Part 2: When they meet up for their reunion, Ashley is stuck on what her next book will be, Kate is wondering if she should expand her boutique and leave her small town behind, William works as a lifeguard at a community pool and seems content with his life, Olivia is a professor of film studies who might be falling in love with someone else in her department, and Robert is a successful creative director, but his personal life lacks direction. I have ideas of which characters would end up together, but I'm more interested in knowing who you think would based on their characters.

TV Guide Listing: Tonight on Reunion, friendships are put to the test when a nostalgic trip to meet old professors ends with William getting the entire group invited to the frat party of the semester. Friendships are put to the test as new bonds are created when the group learn a new drinking game popular with the Gen Z crowd.
