Anna was left feeling incredibly leery of this meeting after her conversation with Alex. She was reeling from the information she had received, and didn't quite know how to handle all of it.

There were pieces missing, too - she had a feeling Alex hadn't told her everything.

And...neither had Nick. She didn't like not knowing everything.

Idly rubbing her arm where the needle had been only a few hours ago, she headed to the orchard, still feeling groggy from the effects of the drug.

Stepping outside, she had to just...stop for a moment and stare upwards at the sky - sky that she had never seen before. It was perfection, unlike anything she had ever seen before. Even if it wasn't real, and she suspected it wasn't, a false ceiling as beautiful as this was something to stop and marvel at.

Her feet kept her going though, and soon enough she stood in front of Nick, arms crossed, thumb brushing against her inner elbow idly.

"You...are this Nick?"

Nick had kept very specific information from her for a reason. Anna was a dangerous woman back home. And he didn't doubt her danger diminished simply being displaced. He didn't want her to know what he had been. It was better that way.

His had was tilted back, studying the branches above his head when he hears her voice.

She was intimidating on the journals. She was downright frightening in person. Nick had to will himself to remain still. He nodded to answer her question and spoke quietly in their native language.

"And you are Anna."

Anna doesn't feel very dangerous. She feels tired, weak, and drained - and she looks it. Her hair is swept back and away from her face, and she looks incredibly pale compared to the normal bronze of her skin.

"I am." It feels good to answer in her own language - after spending time conversing in English and then in German, backtracking to New American feels much, much better and more natural.

She comes up in front of him and sways a little, uncertain if her legs can still support her. She was still alive but it felt like whatever drug had been in her system was still there.

Maybe it was nerves. She couldn't be sure.

"We have things to discuss."

Things to discuss. Right. Nick noted that those things didn't necessarily involve his past or what he used to be. He could come out of this with his history completely vague.

His mind was made up, now it was a toss up if his body agreed.

"Si, we do." He nodded, before noticing the way she swayed. He moved over, making room for her under the tree's shade. "Por favor, sit."
