He shouldn't have left his room. He should have stayed put and waited for the joint to start healing. But Ironhide was not patient. And he refused to lay low, in a crisis.
Never mind he couldn't... actually walk.
He was probably doing more damage than good by dragging his leg behind him, and leaning on the wall. He refused to be bowed, would not stand idly by while his charges potentially vanished into this darkness. So it was with headlights blazing from his shoulders, and damaged leg dragging on the stone floor, that he entered the hall.
There was no mistaking the figure at the door. There might have been other robots of Ironhide's size in the Keep, but Xanth knew this one.
"I--Ironhide!"
He abandoned his seat at the fireplace, pillows and all, and rushed to Ironhide's side. Had he the size or strength, he would have gone to take Ironhide's arm over his shoulder, but such a thing was literally impossible. Instead, he just looked from Ironhide's dragging leg, to his good optic, and back.
"C-- Come on, um, y-you, you should-- s-sit-- or-- s-some, something--"
He'd forgotten. He hadn't seen the boy since the injury. Maybe he should have contacted him privately. Or something. He had the decency to look embarrassed, and killed his headlights, shifting to lean against a wall.
But then relief outweighed the embarrassment, and he just looked weary.
"Found you," he said, his intakes heaving in what sounded oddly close to a sigh.
He actually hadn't been paying any attention to the journals lately - first mistake, considering he'd hounded Bryn for the very same. And now, shrouded in darkness, he's kicking himself for being the worlds biggest hypocrit, unable to be irritated at no one other than himself for his idiocy. Now, he's blind and can't see and he has no idea why.
"Confound this Keep!" He rails, dragging his gun out to try and use the low, eerie blue light it provided.
This whole situation reminded him of when he'd first arrived.
Ryn hadn't been paying much attention, either, but then, she usually didn't pay much attention to the journals. Or at least, not unless she'd noticed something fucking ridiculous was going on.
Which meant she'd gone out with naught but her iPod, and was having to attempt to see her way by the glow of its little screen. Not exactly the best flashlight.
Fortunately, she heard a familiar voice expressing what were pretty much her sentiments - although with a bit less cursing than she'd have used - and perked up the slightest bit.
Megamind likes to stalk specific people, see. He just doesn't let them know about it, because while he might be a villain (some might argue against this) he is not a creep.
He pauses, swinging the de-gun around to aim it in the direction of the voice, expression suspicious - he wants to make sure he's not hearing things.
Nah, there wasn't anything creepy about stalking specific people. Of course, if it was someone else, the response might've been different, but as it was, Ryn'd approve.
She heard the suspicion in his voice, but that didn't stop her from continuing towards him. Though her abilities don't work as well here as they do normally, they're at least functioning well enough that she's reasonably sure she can trust her sense that it's him.
"Yeah, it's me. Don't suppose you've any idea what the hell is going on?"
Aara sluggishly walked into the Great Keep with her lit candle. Her eyes are wide in her pale face, but a large part of her worry is eased when she sees Xanth speaking with Ironhide. At least he was safe, and Ironhide was strong. It was, strangely enough, a relief to have him near, even if Aara did decide to keep her distance
( ... )
If she had been acting smart she would have stayed safely hidden in her room. Well alright if she was really as smart as she thought she was, then she would have found a way out of here by now. But that thought wasn't exactly helping her right now.
Anyway, the point was it would have been smarter to stay in her room. That's what she'd done for the invasion of the zombies, and it had worked out pretty well. This time was different though. She had people she cared about, and she needed to see them alive. Plus sitting in a dark room, alone, while something invaded the keep wasn't exactly comforting.
Using the static from her Farnsworth wasn't exactly the best way to keep from running into walls, but it kept her alive. Claudia managed to stumble her way into the great hall. She took a moment for her eyes to adjust to the bright lights before scanning for some familiar faces.
Xanth had been watching the door for anyone he knew. Kairi and Ironhide were accounted for, but he hadn't seen Bobby, or Chloe, or Riku... and that was all worrying. His eyes were peeled for anyone he knew.
But he didn't know this person. Her face was familiar, yes, but her name didn't come to him. All the same, Xanth shrugged off his blanket and went her way.
"H-Hey," he said with a lopsided smile. "A-Are you, uh-- l-looking for-- a-anyone?"
Hey, someone walking toward her. It was, uh, that one guy? She was sure she'd met him and she was really sure he had a name. She just wasn't sure what his name was. Crap.
She answers him, but she scans faces around the room, instead of looking at him.
Hey, you haven't seen Bobby or Ezra around have you? Or Sollux or Malkus?
Xanth's own habit triggered, he bit his own lip. "N-No. I-- I-I was-- looking for Bobby too, a-actually, but-- I-I haven't seen him around. O-Or any of-- y-your other friends." He glanced at the ground and shifted his feet. "S-- Sorry."
That she hasn't seen Bobby was worrying. Bobby might be safe from the cold, maybe, Xanth didn't know how his powers worked, but the darkness was different.

Sitting could be addressed later.

If he could, he would drag Ironhide to a chair, but all he could do was sputter and worry.

"Ryn?" He doesn't quite trust it's really her.
