Just a few seconds ago things were normal, or as normal as they got at the keep. Sollux was busy wondering why he was still at the party, at least when he could manage to get two thoughts together through the drunken haze. Then there was a loud noises (from that damned tower) and a good number of the guests just...dropped.
He peers around the room, clearly rather lost. "Um...did I miss...miss something?"
It might be more noticeable than some of the others- since big black wings also slumped to the floor, and the violin goes clattering against the stone. Isa's lifeless, and headless corpse lays there silently.
It takes him awhile to notice those familiar now-black wings and make his way over to Isabella's body. In fact he doesn't even notice the lack of head at first.
"I-IB? Are you..."
No. No she most definitely was not alright. Frantic, Sollux kneels by the body. She isn't moving. She has...she has no head?! Maybe it was just invisible, oh god, please let it just be invisible.
Red and blue energy starts sparking around his eyes and Sollux paws at the air atop Isa's shoulders. Nothing. No head. No way to revive her...no, wait, it worked differently here and, oh fuck he wasn't sure. But his moirail was dead (again) and he was...not at all happy.
Sollux stands up slowly, more of the energy sparking over his body. He is very Not Happy here. "Cod. Damnit. Deior."

Isabella was making her way back into the party room by using the wall for her balance. It wasn't long before she saw the issue that was laying around the ballroom.
The first headless body that greets her would've made her gag if she had a stomach to illicit the reaction from. Her balance teeters just on the edge of toppling before she leans heavily against the wall. Then her panic skyrockets.
Where's Sollux? Where are her friends? Who is left alive?
"SOLLUX?" She can't see him at first, but, perhaps he could hear her-wait a moment! She can see that blue-red energy and she knows only one person to have that! "SOLLUX!"
The Isa-headed scarecrow is doing the best beeline impression that she can across the dance floor calling Sollux's name.
What is this, where is he? The doctor glances around for a moment, taking one step forward before stumbling and staggering a few more steps. That doesn't feel quite right, he's not feeling the long flowing magical robes he's gotten used to.
"Where am I? What- oh... Oh, dear..."
The doctor glances down at his new... body? looking at his flimsy straw-hands then at his flimsy straw-legs... Is it going to hurt? Oh man, is this going to hurt?! He feels up to around his collar, rubbing the spot between his neck and the new body...
"O-Oh dear, what on earth... I don't-... Hello?"
The scarecrow lifts up the brim of his hat to get a good look around the walkway he's on. Oddly enough, the terror hasn't settled in yet.
Oh, good! The captain will make some sense of all this. Malkus tips his hat up a bit to get a good look at the-...scare-...crow captain. A deep sigh is heard from beneath the giant wizard hat and Malkus sounds more inconvenienced than anything. Well, at least he's not a Jack-o-Lantern, right? Right?
"A-Ah yes... Hello, Captain... I er-..." sigh "I suppose you've fallen into a bit of trouble as well, then..."
The doctor wobbles and staggers over to Jack, wiggling his boneless scarecrow arms and legs like a cartoon.
"We're in a bit of trouble, aye. But it's not the worst I've been in." Jack smiles at Malkus, those gold teeth sparkling still. "We'll be right as rain soon!"
Lying, the captain was good at.
"Lets find out who isn't apart of this mess, shall we?"
Alex had been enjoying the festivities quite a bit, making his rounds as he was wont to do. He was currently in the process of locating a certain Mage to dance with when things... get a bit weird.
He blacks out for a moment, thinking briefly that the alcohol might have been stronger than he thought; but no, it was more than that.
He looks to be someplace completely different, but oddly familiar. He moves to turn on his heel and stumbles, his balance new and completely altered.
He has no idea that his truly outrageous body has slumped headlessly to the floor of the Hall. Oops.
"Wha-"
There are several moments of fumbling and reality begins to sink in. "Oh, God..." Some of the other stumbling scarecrows were certainly familiar and he thought he knew why. "Anders?!"
His gaze jerks around the figures lining the area near him. "Chloe? Derek??" He looks for any familiar figures amongst those waking around him, both hopefully and regrettably.
YOU ARE SO BAD OMFG [Others can tag Chloe, too!]ghostly_stutterOctober 29 2011, 06:51:02 UTC
Chloe had spotted Alex again later that night, smiling and assuming he was looking for Anders in the over-crowded Great Hall. She decided to help him out, walking towards him and keeping an eye out for the tall mage as well.
"Alex!"
She didn't know if he heard her. She darted around a couple, then heard the strangest dong of a clock. A clock much similar to something she heard once before--near the cairn when she had been trying to summon.
"A-Alex?"
She turned back to look at him, having looked around the room for the originator of the sound. When she saw Alex next, on the floor--headless Chloe's heart pounded fiercely through her and her knees buckled. She almost fainted.

He'd turned away for just a second. Just one moment. To go grab something -- to adjust his hood -- something that was no longer important. Just as the bell tolled, he'd looked away.
Then someone screamed.
He looked back in time to see the bodies fall. One, in particular. The girl screaming registered only secondary to the sight making his blood go cold, and the sudden storm of emotion threatening to send the air crackling with blue light.
"No!"
While it wasn't the girl's scream, it was loud enough in its own right. Because this... this just couldn't be happening. Not again. He ducked past the girl, shouldered her aside, more or less, before dropping to his knees next to the corpse. There was magic gathering futilely in his hands, brilliant blue energy that would do no good.
"Don't do this!"
Other bodies were littering the fringes of his vision, as he ripped his gaze away from the body in front of him. The others -- "Hawke! Varric!"
Works for me!!allthesame2meOctober 30 2011, 02:01:30 UTC
Alex sees others he knows well and some he's only met in passing; others still he does not recognize at all. However, it's perfectly clear that a fair number of them are in the same boat at the present time if the screams of horror from nearby mean anything at all. He still doesn't see Anders, though and it's both a relief and a fresh stab of fear that the Mage was possibly spared this.
But was he really spared anything? If Alex's head was here, with some blood all around the neckline of the scarecrow he was now apparently attached to, that meant his body was...
"Oh, God," he repeats, the words choked and nearly frantic. He stumbles away from the wall then, doing a fair job in keeping his feet even as wobbly as he feels himself to be. He's using the wall now and excusing himself as he pushes past other scarecrows to get back to the Great Hall.
"ANDERS!!" he bellows down the hall ahead of him, unable to even remotely hide the horror in his tone. The lycan has been through a lot since arriving at the Keep and done so with a

Isabella had been fiddling. She could go for hours like this, she missed it- the dancing the song. Sorry, Isabel, if any of the musicians could be convinced to play a more exciting tune, she'll be doing that also. There are only so many times one may listen to the Black Nag before one wishes for something with a little more freedom in it.
Then the hush fell. The staff looking for the source, and one would be dense to not react to that.
Isabella looks around like everyone else- and that is the last sight she sees until her eyes open upon the scene outside.
She's confused at first. Did she pass out? What happened, and she goes to stand. But there is a distinct lack of essentials in balance and Isabella falls forward. Again? With the winglessness? Damnit! One might even catch a few swear words in an unfamiliar tongue

He'd just been out for a walk. A party, any sort of party (not to talk about one geared towards humans, and some sort of costume party involving dressing which he didn't exactly understand, despite having followed several of the journal entries where people had explained to other confused individuals what it all meant) was not really Jetfire's... 'thing', so to speak.
He's not overly close to the bridge or walkways when the quiet falls - but he doesn't notice that, having shut off his audio recpetors to avoid the noise, and so he doesn't notice the bell tolling except as a faint vibration along his plating either - but he's certainly close enough to have seen them, and was even more confused over the fact that they were headlessOr were

There were a number of voices she recognized but this voice was the closest.
"Jetfire?"
She is using her strawbody more like a strawdog, instead of a person. Without the wings her balance is, yet again, screwed up. She can't grab onto anything to hold her balance, so she's resorted to all fours. It's not easy, and it's less than comfortable and she's really not happy but, its starting to get her where she needs going.
She still hasn't seen the bloody headless stumps upon the other straw bodies yet.
Though the question is a forgone conclusion, it was still good to ask, "Are you alright?"
Why... is she asking him if he was all right? She was now close enough to confirm what he'd seen and he knows Starscream had destroyed his own. Where was the Seeker? He quickly comes up besides her and kneels down, however, but... How do you handle this?
Treat it as torture. War time. He can handle that.
"How do you feel?"
Except, no one ever said he'd been good at this, no matter the situation.
"I am disturbed and discontented but, seem to be alright under the circumstances."
She clearly hasn't seen anyone else yet with cleaved heads upon straw bodies. Or seen what has become of her own. She gives up trying to get to her 'feet' and sits down.
"I can't seem to feel anything though. Do you know what happened?"

That voice sounded familiar.
Jack turns and looks at the un-beaked and large hatted scarecrow, "Is that you in there?"
The captain brings his scarecrow body over to his Second First Mate.
