Just a few seconds ago things were normal, or as normal as they got at the keep. Sollux was busy wondering why he was still at the party, at least when he could manage to get two thoughts together through the drunken haze. Then there was a loud noises (from that damned tower) and a good number of the guests just...dropped.

He peers around the room, clearly rather lost. "Um...did I miss...miss something?"

It might be more noticeable than some of the others- since big black wings also slumped to the floor, and the violin goes clattering against the stone. Isa's lifeless, and headless corpse lays there silently.

It takes him awhile to notice those familiar now-black wings and make his way over to Isabella's body. In fact he doesn't even notice the lack of head at first.

"I-IB? Are you..."

No. No she most definitely was not alright. Frantic, Sollux kneels by the body. She isn't moving. She has...she has no head?! Maybe it was just invisible, oh god, please let it just be invisible.

Red and blue energy starts sparking around his eyes and Sollux paws at the air atop Isa's shoulders. Nothing. No head. No way to revive her...no, wait, it worked differently here and, oh fuck he wasn't sure. But his moirail was dead (again) and he was...not at all happy.

Sollux stands up slowly, more of the energy sparking over his body. He is very Not Happy here. "Cod. Damnit. Deior."

Isabella was making her way back into the party room by using the wall for her balance. It wasn't long before she saw the issue that was laying around the ballroom.

The first headless body that greets her would've made her gag if she had a stomach to illicit the reaction from. Her balance teeters just on the edge of toppling before she leans heavily against the wall. Then her panic skyrockets.

Where's Sollux? Where are her friends? Who is left alive?

"SOLLUX?" She can't see him at first, but, perhaps he could hear her-wait a moment! She can see that blue-red energy and she knows only one person to have that! "SOLLUX!"

The Isa-headed scarecrow is doing the best beeline impression that she can across the dance floor calling Sollux's name.

well, it did take him some time to find it. thii2ii22tupiid November 4 2011, 06:42:44 UTC
Damn, he could almost hear her voice. Even with his head all cloudy, for whatever reason, he was still beating himself up. Except he had no idea what he could have done to prevented this. Why would her head be gone? Why would so many people have--
Wait.
That really was Isabella's voice. The energy fades as a look of confusion grows. "....IB?"

It takes Sollux a few moments to identify scarecrow!Isa (he's so used to finding her by the wings, really), but when he does he doesn't move other than to face her fully. "What the fuck happened?"

and her to get there! :) halfbrokenwings November 4 2011, 06:57:34 UTC
She stops her mad rush and almost takes a header into what looks her own headless body. Instead she over balances the other way and sits on the floor. She looks up at Sollux, pointedly trying to ignore the fact that there is dead headless her over there.

She thought that this was a polymorph spell. It had to be right? But it wasn't. It clearly was not.

"I-i d-don't know. I don't know! I was here. The bell tolled- I was outside!"

Sollux moves to try and help her up but ends up falling over himself. He grumbles and pulls himself to his knees.

"Are you alright?! How do you feel? Where were you? How did you get back here! Is this what happened to the others?"

Sorry Isa, he's kind of still in panic mode, but at least your appearance eased his rage. For now.

She's right there in the panic boat with him. Straw and wood come up to try and catch or help Sollux, though likely it doesn't work very well.

"Are you alright?!" She tries to help him or catch him in someway but can not move very well at all to do so.

"Th-ere are oth-ers! Heads on - th-these th-things. Th-ought it was polymorph. It w-was outside on th-e bridge! Is everyone th-the same? What happened here?

He manages to at least stabalize himself, kneeling there next to Isabella's body and scarecrow. "Fine. I'm fine. Fine, I just...heads on the stick men? Like yours?
"...
"...does it hurt?"

She is so pointedly looking at just Sollux's face. She might've died once, but she doesn't want to see what she looks like dead.

She nods, "Yes. L-like mine. It... it doesn't hurt You can't feel things though. Doesn't m-move like a body, really." She closes her eyes,"Didn't hurt when it happened either."

"...God..." Sorry, Isa, but Sollux is going to look between your body and your head a few times right now. "This is so...this is so fucked up. How did this shit even happen? Why would that fuck do this?"

He closes his eyes and shakes his head before returning his attention to Isa-crow. "I'm sorry. I should have been able to...I-I don't know...help. Something. We should have..."
He trails off, not really sure how he fucked up here (but certain he must have) and unable to piece together everything that's happened.

Isa notices her body, and if she had a stomach she would be emptying it. As it was, she'll have new nightmares at night to contend with when she sleeps.

"I don't know. I don't know why some people, and not..." Then her expression changes, her opinion of the Lord is worse than the one for Isabel." He's a cruel man. Because we're his guests. Perhaps to show us his power over us, our situation."

She curses rather eloquently in Drow," He's an asshole."

She shakes her head at Sollux, "No one knew, Sollux. There was nothing to be done. Nothing you could do. Do not blame yourself, please?"

She'd hug him but she's more than well aware that might not be the best given the blood and the straw. She puts a wooden hand on one of his hands.

This place was great for giving the residents new nightmares, wasn't it? Sollux still dreamed of the black tunnels under the keep, one of the few nightmares that actually got to him.

He looks down at her 'hand' for a few moments before flipping his and squeezing it. Its probably for the best that she can't really feel it.

"That fucking bastard. Just because he brought us here doesn't mean we're his toys to play with. Who the fuck does he think he is?!"

The familiar energy is starting to spark around his eyes again.

"I don't know. He promises sanctuary and then-" devils and demons she does not want to think about this but, she must.

She sees that familiar sparking, "He has buried himself by doing this."

"He doesn't promise shit, he just drags us here and gives us some fucking absurd explanation about how he's helping. If I ever get my claws in him..." Sollux has no idea what he'll do, but he's pretty sure instinct will kick in at that point. Just the thought of getting to pound some sense into Deior...At this point Sollux isn't sure if he's ever wanted anything more.

Isabella may not be able to feel her straw hand, but she might be able to hear Sollux crush it. The energy keeps its slow and steady build-up.

"S-sollux?" She heard the cracking sound that is wood beginning to splinter under force. Isabella looks down at her 'hand' and back up at him. "Sollux please."

She puts her other hand on his shoulder, to get him to pay attention to her- face- at least. Hopefully. "It can not be helped right now."
