Multiple personality issue

I’ve noticed that people, especially me, have different selves depending on the setting. Of course people act differently when they’re with different people, but I’m talking a complete personality and emotional change. Sometimes they cross, sometimes they don’t and, in my case, sometimes one is liked more than another ( Read more... )

Gah...still like the Wolverines?! *GASP* How could you?

Just kidding...I know you come from a Wolverine family, so I guess it's cool. At least you have definate ties to people who actually WENT to the school. I grew up a Spartan (i'm the third generation Spartan in my family - along with my cousin and my brother) so you see how I may be slightly biased towards MSU.

Also, question: If your guard self and your me self make you happiest, shouldn't you be those selves 24/7? I mean, if you truly are happiest with those personalities, then the other "selves" will occur naturally in your happiest selves instead of overtaking them...does that make sense?

I also had to laugh when I read the beginning of your guard self. Who can talk for hours about marching band, drum corps, etc...YOU NEED to hang out with Ian and me more often. If there is a conversation that hasn't turned to that subject matter, I can't remember it.

Yeah, it does make sense. It's not that I don't like my other selves, it's just that those come out depending on the setting. Like, my guard self won't do any good when I'm covering an event for yearbook. See my problem? Maybe I just feel more like myself in certain settings...hmmm.

You always make me think, Hil!

Who says a guard self can't "cover an event" for yearbook? I think I may have read the post wrong, initially. I read it as you're happiest when you're two selves, and the others you're like that because you have to be. I get it. It doesn't mean you automatically change your personality. There are several facets to everyone; I understand that certain personality traits show up more often than others. I don't think this is the case with you, but make sure to not lose the YOU in all of it.

Okay, so I DEF. know what you're talkign about. I have sides too... I think everyone does. I've noticed mine merging though. Around my highschool friends I act like I used to... but i also act like I now do at state... forexample, even though this is lame, i care about how i look now. My friends see it as "dressing up" when really I ALWAYS pulled the ol' ponytail and hoodie thing in HS... It's a change, but it's not a bad thing to change... I don't htink...

PS, in the other comment I said I had 40 posts to read... make that 60, i miscounted. >_
