You and I seem to have similar tastes in music. Every music artist in your list that I recognized is one that I like. But you mentioned a bunch of Dresden Dolls and Amanda Palmer songs that I don't recognize. I was wondering, where are they from? Amanda hasn't put out a new album (I checked). Are these singles or B-Sides or something? Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.
I loved Hymn for Tomorrow. It was just so beautiful and so fitting for Yao and Kiku. I got to admit that I thought it was in Japanese the first couple of time I listened to it before it hit me that it was in Mandarin. >.<
Furnace Room Lullaby was just utterly haunting and fitting.
And omg, I seriosuly could not stop giggling at The More You Ruv Someone. I have that song already and I never thought to apply it to them, but now I don't know how I didn't. XD
Alan is signed to a Japanese label, but she's Tibetan~
Neko Case has several songs that remind me of Yao..."Start Out Running" and "Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth" come to mind.
If only that "The More You Ruv Someone" had less "r"s --- only Japan gets his "l"'s and "r"'s confused! I was a bit afraid that the song may seem tasteless (there's people out there who reaaaaally don't like YaoKiku, but I guess they wouldn't be looking at this FST if that were the case).
Thanks! I've been waiting for the longest time for you to get back on my comments regarding the FST you made. I thought I'd offended you with one of my notes XD
(I found working mp3 versions of the songs you had in mp4 and posted them in the comments of the FST, btw)
Hey hey, tell me what songs you like the most when you're done listening to this...I was reluctant about putting "Eric's Song" on this mix (and sort-of-regret-it) because Mainlanders tend to think Yao hasn't forgiven Kiku yet.
I like to think Yao forgave Kiku when they signed the treaty-thingy in 1972 xD The original text is very fanservice-y. Still, I agree that maybe Yao forgave but didn't forget, ne?
Ah, I'm just worried about RL politics; there's a great deal of anti-Japanese sentiment on the Mainland, but not everyone possesses it (both my parents were from the Mainland, they didn't make any deal about me liking anime and liking Japanese food, etc even though I know they were taught about the invasion and occupation in school). I get the impression that Japan views the PRC as a security threat and leans towards the USA in matters of defense. Of course, Hetalia = / = real life and these nation-tans have known each other for a very, very long time.
