There was no more snow overnight, and the temperature went up then down, so we now have a layer of ice under the snow. It's been gently snowing all day and my poor little snowdrops are now completely buried *sadface*
I think we're all just flailing as the virus keeps mutating. This (anything normal) may be a much longer slog away than we've been thinking it would be once we had vaccines. I'm operating on the assumption that some protection is better than nothing. Just as with flu vaccines, the may not stop whatever the current version is, but they probably mitigate it somewhat.

I was expecting the virus to mutate so I'm not that surprised. The frustrating thing is that this nasty mutation came into the UK from abroad. If we had stopped travel when we had the first cases it wouldn't have got such a hold *sigh* They are saying we will probably have to have booster shots each year and that Covid will be with us for several years at the minimum.
I try and fill the days as it's nice to have contact with other people as we still aren't allowed to go out or travel and everything is shut... at least online classes are live and interesting.
I am surprised how much snow we've had. There are places fairly close to here that haven't even had a flake!
The portraiture course is fascinating. Lots of interesting art and as the tutor did her dissertation in portraiture we get fabulously details handouts after each lesson.
In colder weather I head down to Sweetie’s workshop and turn on the extra heating about 30 minutes ahead of when I want to overtake his area as mine to make art. We are in a cold snap currently. About 10 degrees colder than normal which is refreshing as it had been seasonally warm this month thus far.
I used to turn the heating on before I went into the studio but the heaters I have in there warm it up really quickly so I don’t bother to do that anymore. I just have to remember to wear thicker socks as the floor never really warms up even if I’m wearing good shoes.
Someone on Gardeners' Question Time (I think) described snowdrops as having antifreeze in them, so they can survive being covered in snow. I hope they're right, because snowdrops are such a promise.
That’s interesting - I know they’ve usually survived OK in the past so hopefully they’ll be OK. We have had more snow overnight and it’s gently snowing again now. I think I’m going to have to reschedule my dental appointment tomorrow at this rate!

Elizabethan portraits take a lot of decoding. The symbolism just of the portraits of Elizabeth I is fascinating. Sounds a very interesting course.
