Birdies for Shapinglight....

The bread we part made yesterday at the workshop proved overnight in the 'fridge and I baked it this morning. It turned out really well, and I'm hoping it tastes good, but it certainly looks OK:

Parakeets... how very cool!!!

When I changed from Sky to Virgin Media (why did I do that, WHY???) I lost loads of programmes because I ran out of time to watch them. I've still got the sky box, so maybe when I go back I can connect it up again... can you tell I'm counting down till November when my contract ends?

The parakeets are a colony that has developed after someone left a cage open apparently. The flock is actually quite large (more than 30 birds) now and they live in a nearby wood. We used to see them in our old garden, but they obviously like the flowers on the horse chestnut and are in the tree here most days.

We've been with Virgin Media for a very long time (since it was Cable and Wireless) and actually over the last 20 years or so I would say we've had very little trouble. The problem comes with the TiVo boxes which don't seem very reliable unfortunately but we were told a lot of the flakiness we've been having is because they are trying to roll out some new software for the upgraded TiVos and that's causing some issues.

The tivo box is the least of my worries, although I dont like the virgin interface as much as sky's. My issue is with the broadband... it drops practically every day. Yesterday it was every 10 minutes for about an hour. I do the test and it tells me there is no problem please ring. I've had the engineers out twice and they find nothing. The last one changed the router and its exactly the same. My contract is up in November and I'm hightailing it back to sky!!

Our broadband is occasionally flakey. It's for the same reason apparently. Every now and again it's hopeless and then you'll go months and months being really good. It does help if your router/hub is up high and unobscured by anything. We had more issues when it was in a cupboard.

That bread looks lovely. I do love a loaf with a good crust.

Crazy that you have wild parakeets in your garden. I was going to suggest they were Australia's revenge for the rabbit, but I see on goggling that the rose ringed parakeet is Afro-Asian.

The bread was delicious and I shall definitely be making some again. I do feel a bit full of bread at the moment after a few days though LOL!

The parakeets apparently escaped from someone's house a few years ago, and we now have a flock of about 30 that lives in the local woods. I used to see them at our old house, but they seem to be enjoying the flowers on the horse chestnut so I've seen a lot more of them recently. They are very noisy!

Good looking bread, yum!

I spotted the birdies, a much lighter green than the leaves around them, we used to get parrots around here, but I haven't seen them in a while.

We had a really nice Easter Weekend, very bright and sunny, sorry yours was so gloomy.

Thanks - the bread was delicious.

The birdies are so well camouflaged but they are really noisy.

The weather here is incredibly changeable - we were promised rain today and it's just been cloudy and dull with occasional bursts of sun.
