(Apologies for the title, I recently found the WikiPedia article which even has a, perhaps more intuitive, translation of their own.)

So, this morning we had a 2.1 earthquake. Why did we even notice this? Because it was 3 miles from our house... Still not that noticeable but still, we got our own personal earthquake! Yay ( Read more... )

In your geek news for the day: I finished writing chess for the ToothyGDL (ToothyCat Games Description Language) yesterday. You can play it here if you feel like a game of chess, but you'll need two people (or you could play it Geri's way) since I'm not even going to pretend I can write a computer opponent.

I do intend to add state sharing between multiple users to the engine within the coming weeks, which would add a whole new dimension to things like this as you'd suddenly be able to play with other people over the net.. ^_^

That would indeed be extremely nifty. The main catch for me would be a complete lack of skill in chess :)

Maybe my next ToothyGDL game should be something I'm better at... Snakes and ladders, perhaps?
