I suppose that depends on your definition of "stubborn and ignorant." Depending on the perspective, it can be seen as "determined and well-meaning" or "confident and misunderstood."

What makes a reason good is usually subjective. Maybe it really is bad judgment, but it's not always a good idea to jump to the conclusion that it is. You could end up alienating a lot of people that way.
