One of the entertaining things about going back and cleaning up the archive is that I get to revisit old links that I posted. I used to post waaaaay too many weird/gross/WTF links; I don't know how you guys ever stuck around.

Yabusame is Japanese-archery-from-horseback, isn't it? Regular archery over here with the broad bow is neither rare nor brutal, lol. And you're totally right, it's no different than trying to wield a broadsword from horseback, basically. It looks really hard to keep your balance.

I also agree with commenter "ShariC"-- the whole clip is geared for the attention span of an ADHD 5 year old and fully geared towards that idiotic "peace sign! cute school girl uniform!" geek image of Japan, which exists only in the closed circles of high school girls. The cameramen and producers/directors probably have a weakness for panty-shot Shonenjump comics, I bet.

Exactly, on both points. They're probably trying to make the pilot appealing so that they can get enough numbers in to get a full series going, but it's still pretty...ew. The guy *is* rather smarmy too.
