I'm such a slippery character

If you had to come up with a phrase to describe certain aspects of my behaviour and you weren't feeling particularly uncharitable, one set of words that might come to mind is "sexually motivated".  Sometimes this has served me well: I started working out a few years ago because I thought my mate deserved a lover with a better body than what mine ( Read more... )

OK, this demonstrates that red is the traditional colour for such things, eh? :)

I would be sure to redecorate if you ever visited, then ... if I knew who you were. :)

Perhaps you need to get tied in/up :)

Not sure Velcro would work especially if "still nothing on top of them wants to stay where it is".

Awwwwww, thank you! *hugs* But fret not ... when I write something that sounds worrisome, the writing is what helps end that.

Can you tuck a top sheet and blanket in?

That said, I hate the feeling of being tucked in, and if I sleep in a hotel bed with sheets and blankets I have to go round pulling them all out.

Huskyteer I think that ruins the effect... and yes i do that in Hotels, and they always give you and extra blanket too, and i'm always hot in hotels. Think i may be a hot type of guy.

Not being a blanket person i prefer a duvet.

BTW got your email still digesting it :)

One of the first things that I discovered about satin sheets was that nothing tucks with them ... there's so little friction that any efforts at tuckage only postpone the migration by a few minutes. :)

I like the feeling of being tucked in with perfectly fresh sheets. After one night, though, it just gets confining and I start pulling out the sides as well.

When I bought my house, I inherited my mom's bed and a closet full of random sheets. It was a California King bed and for awhile I used the bed, then eventually switched out to a Queen sized. I never did do anything with the sheets.

When I moved earlier this year I brought down the contents of that closet, and procured a California King bed. In the collection of sheet I've found... you've guessed it satin sheets.

I do look forward to trying these out. Nevermind the fact that I may have been conceived on them. I am rather concerned though as my bedframe is a captain's bed. That means I am sleeping up much higher than a standard bed. On the positive side, it is an old water bed so it has padded side rails. I'm not sure which is going to win though, the satin sheets wanting me to slide off or the padded sides trying to keep me in.

Hey, if you were conceived on them (not that you could ever likely prove it one way or the other), that would be a cool synchronicity ... well, unless it just weirded you out. :)

I think, unless your mattress has a tremendous crown in the middle, the rails should serve you just fine. And hopefully that won't fall into the category of "famous last words" ...
