If  the sheer mention of Stargate Atlantis makes you feel homicidal right about now, please move along:)

A while ago I said that I'd post some of the SGA artwork I'd already started when I eventually finished it.
This piece was actually an idea for a story where Rodney and John have their first time together the night before John goes on a dangerous ( Read more... )

Oh! That's lovely. I particularly like the expression on Rodney's face. It almost tells the story you didn't write.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, I'm glad you've liked my drawings, too. I haven't graduated to color, yet. Maybe someday. :)

Coloured pencil isn't really much of a leap from graphite, and you use it in much the same way. I was only thinking recently that I can't remember last time I used good old fashioned graphite, and maybe I should use it more often, it demands much more control and discipline than colour does.
Me, I'm just getting old and lazy lol!

I've illustrated lots of fandoms but I find the characters in SGA very challenging, and quite difficult. I admire your talent in capturing them so well.

How did I miss this when you posted it? (Saw it on the newsletter tonight.)
Rodney is so Woobie and John looks so sinister. Those expressions come through loud and clear. Just a wonderful look at them. Thank you for sharing.

I kind of like the idea of a 'bad' version of Sheppard and heroic, tortured Rodney. Oh okay, any kind of Rodney is good:)
Glad you liked it!

*is jealous of people who can use coloured pencils properly*

That's fantastic - their expressions are awesome, and the slightly cold lighting on John really sets the mood.

Thanks! I don't usually mess with more complex expressions until I'm really familiar with drawing the faces, but the scene was in my head, so I thought I'd give it a go:)
Thank you for the feedback!

This one is also stunning! Before I read your explanation, I thought Sheppard looked rather pissed off and wondered what McKay had done this time. Sounds like a good story though!

(also, I like that you went for the original uniforms. I never really liked the later uniforms, and I have to confess, I didn't like the later seasons where they were always running around spaceships without finding the light switch and it was only about Replicators and Wraith all the time. Became a bit boring)

Sadly, so far I haven't met Joe Flanigan or David Hewlett, so you'll get the "me and RDA" picture instead.
