Yay for optimism! Really, my only problem with DMC and AWE was that they made a lot of good ficcers upset. They disrupted my fandom. It made me sad. But if everyone could just... I dunno. Be more flexible? I wanna say "care less" but that would be detrimental and hypocritical. >P

P.S. Wow, did that ficcer have some mad connection to the Disney trash compactor or what? How did they get everything so close to canon? link, please? ::puppy dog eyes::

Hmm... A part of me still doesn't want another pirate movie because chances are Ted & Terry are going to fuck up even more of the first movie's brilliance. But - a movie without Will and Elizabeth? Bring it on! :D To me, it would definitely be interesting to have a sequel that only focuses on Captain Jack, because as you said, Elizabeth has taken over every plot so far and it would be nice to have a pirate movie about PIRATES for once.

(if a little Mary Sueish)A LITTLE? I thought she was the worst Mary Sue in history, with everyone (except for Davy Jones and Sao Feng) immediately lusting after her. *sighs* And the whole story from Governor's daughter with a far too romantic view on pirates to Pirate Queen who handles ships and crews with expertise is a bit too Mary Sue-ish to me too ( ... )

Maybe you should go watch some action flicks and keep an eye out for Gary Stu. Or look out for Mary in some romantic comedies. :P

I mean, isn't it a bit foolish to drop Will and Elizabeth? So many teenies watched the PotC movies just because of those two and their "romantic" relationship, after all.

It'll definitely change the demographic. Now, if only Disney recognizes the shift and adapts accordingly....

Butbut - aren't we all the greatest pirates the world has ever seen? XDD

The implausibility of Elizabeth's development from Governor's daughter to Pirate Queen still tops anything I've seen in action movies and romantic comedies. I've also seen enough historical movies to get a good image of how girls her age are supposed to act around other people.

We can only hope.
