Note to all and sundry, concerning screencaps

Nov 30, 2009 13:39

If you, like me, are continuously frustrated that the standard size of DVD video is 720px or thereabouts yet my laptop resolution is 1280x800, and that resizing the picture engorges those hideous jpg artifacts, and not even the fanciest options of photoshop can really get rid of them, it may be useful to know that this can be avoided by, er, not ( Read more... )

I didn't even know VLC had Snapshot function. Now I'm educated.

'Tis a very useful function. I have run into the problem where taking caps too frequently makes the video freeze up, but since it didn't happen when I was capping the super-high-quality TW episode I assume the problem is related to the length of the video. That's why my job for today is ripping STXI and splitting it into ~20 minute chunks. That way, I should be able to just hold down the screenshot hotkey and cap every single second.

GUILTY! You are hereby sentenced to hang by the neck until dead 25 hours community service. The community in this case being fandom; the service being whatsoever you feel is suitable.

He really, really does, and he knows it.

And the stuff under the cut didn't enrich my life at all.

I told you NOT to judge me! YOU ARE SO MEAN.

*runs away and slams bedroom door*

*writes angry poetry with a glitter pen*

YOU'LL REGRET THIS.

although i am now tempted to keep a spreadsheet of all the time i spend doing fannish activities. i don't think that would be good for anyone, though.

i'm also thinking, 'well, the Countrycide picspam took 7 hours and it was only 42 minutes long. STXI is over 120 minutes so I'd be mostly there....

WELL I'M GLAD IT DIDN'T. BECAUSE YOU'RE A JUDGMENTAL POO-HEAD.

FINE. BE THAT WAY. SEE IF I CARE.

*writes angsty haiku about tragic lack of working glitter pens*

glitter corpses write
dried up sparkles, write nothing
but dents in paper.

Not the spreadsheets! Anything but the spreadsheets! * quails* Kirk may, if he wishes, use one to keep track of Bones' various acts of cruelty, but that is because he is fictional and fictional people can do that sort of thing and get away with it. Real live spreadsheets don't bear thinking about.

I KNOW YOU ARE YOU SAID YOU ARE BUT WHAT AM I? :P

I'm thinkin' that hand on Kirk's shoulder is Spock's, y/y? Boy's being a little rough!

...also I just noticed in the first picture his shirt is riding up so get a little glimpse of hip. Mmm.

y! Spock is like, "Your current position is not suitable for the manner in which I intend to proceed. Allow me to correct this."

And, oh, is his shirt doing that? Gosh, I must have missed that. >>
