Why are we not allowed sleeves this decade, Fashion Gods? Do I really need to travel back to 1980 every time I want a t-shirt that actually covers more than my shoulders?
YES! i want sleeves, dammit - also, how hard is it to SELL PLAIN RED T-SHIRTS? yesh, pink and orange and BRIGHT FUCKING YELLOW are all very nice, but i like red
TBH I love the ridiculous colors, and would totally wear them if not for the sleeve thing. But you're right, red is scarce. :/ There's a fair amount of non-eye-stabbing neutrals on the racks-- I saw some nice greys today-- but besides that it's all day-glo. There's even ridiculous shoes in day glo (which I lust after, believe me) but how many people can really pull that off, y'know? Hell, I had my hair bright pink for a year-- I'm not afraid of that side of the color wheel-- but I have a yen for Crayola shades.
I do have a lot of red, actually, but that's only because of alma mater basketball. ^_^
Last time I took pottery, my themed collection was on body parts. My favorite piece was the ear-shaped candy dish. :D
my theme tended to be trees - i like trees and, yes, i like pink and orange clothing, too, but i really want a new red t-shirt, just plain, wear with anything red t-shirt and i couldn't find a SINGLE one - lots of tank tops, though
Tank tops. More things which don't have sleeves, although they, at least, are up front about it.
For a plain red t-shirt, I think you'll have to hit up Wal-Mart. It'll be a crappy plain red t-shirt, but Wal-Mat tends to have more staple items than other, trendier stores.
Actually, if your size permits it, look in the ladies' sections of department stores rather than the juniors or misses. They tend to have more classic, utilitarian clothes. Or find some poor Target employee and ask them where they got their red shirt. >P
I really hate those little cap sleeves because they fool me every time. I think I'm getting a sleeve, then I put it on for the first time and BAM there's arm flab for all to see.
Also, I love that in your tag cloud on the sidebar, the "I'm so on crack" tag is in the second biggest font :)
ARRRGH I HAD FORGOTTEN THE DUPLICITOUS CAP SLEEVES. YOU HAVE RE-AWAKENED MY IRE. Ffs, the tight band just doesn't work that high up unless you have very good arm tone. Even skinny girls look blegh with that much un-contoured limb showing.
Also, I love that in your tag cloud on the sidebar, the "I'm so on crack" tag is in the second biggest font :) ...I may or may not be purposely skewing the content and tone of entries in order to cause that. >>
