I clicked without paying attention on the disclaimer and tought I was going to read a Tosh/Ianto piece. Tosh/Ianto is not my favorite cup of tea but why not it's your writing after all, so I clicked.

I was pleasantly surprized to see a universe with 2 Iantos ! Read this between two appointment at the office and I was a bit confused by who was who but I'm pretty sure perception of the narrative is faulty because I didn't pay attention enough. I love when not everything is spell out.

Of course I want to read more about that verse. I would be interesting to continue with Toshiko and Ianto step by step losing hope of coming home (independently of the resolution you want to give) and trying to integrate themselves in a verse where neither Owen nor Jack exist.
I would also like to see Jack's point of view of the two Iantos dilemma with Jack despite thinking there's only hisIanto being confuse about being attract to both of them.

Except Jack does exist in their world -- Tosh recognizes him. Verrrry interesting.

"I like those qualities when you're on my side. But otherwise? They scare the shit out of me."

I love this so much. Eep!

This is awesome. This is amazing. I wouldn't have even noticed the lack of plot if you hadn't pointed it out, and as it was I was having to much fun to care.
Loved every second of interaction between Ianto and Ianto, and Jack's terror in the final-scene-so-far was delicious.

It's probably a good thing the Iantos can't touch each other.
UST = unresolved snarkfilled/suicidal tension y/y?

Am wondering what it is that's making Tosh's Ianto so tired, and wtf is/was going on with their whole reality, and if they're evil (evil in this case is defined as a threat to this universe's Torchwood) or just scary. It's all different.
I don't know if I've ever said - one of my literary kinks is puzzle!fics and spending the whole fic piecing together what on earth happened before it started. If you do ever continue this, you'll want to give us more pieces. Piece by piece.

Ianto's reaction to Ianto sleeping with Jack? I liked -
Ianto nods and taps the keyboard again, then snaps his head around. "What?" Shock, suspicion, an undercurrent of ( ... )

And now, with the just woken up kind of asleep, moar thorts on fic.

Realised that the viewpoint characters are all from our Torchwood. No wonder I'm feeling paranoid about the AU versions.

And some time in the middle of night it clicked what you meant by no plot. Usually this far into a characters-visiting-a-world-that's-not-their-own story there would be Stuff happening that their presence would have an impact on.
But there isn't. Kind of like real life, now I think about it. There's no point to them being there in the first place - it's just a random event (albeit one full of lots of really, really brilliant character interaction) with the AUs plotting quietly in the background. Which they might not even be doing.
Well, Gwen is sampling textiles, and Tosh will be able to fix the machine, but as far as plot goes that's... awfully subtle. And cryptic.
I admit to curiosity about the textiles.

Ianto's eyes slit dark and glittery. "Keep a closer eye on him," he says.
Mmmmm. Ianto.

ok, first of all
I FUCKING LOVE THIS!!

and 2 Iantos should be confusing, but the way you've written and the flow of the story, I find it very easy to follow which if them is doing what

i hope hope hOPE you can finish this

UGGH I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED A WHOLE COMMENT I WROTE. FAIL.

Basically: I like it a lot! There's obviously something bizarre going on with Jack in the parallel universe that Ianto and Tosh are from, because Ianto already seems to have an established animosity towards him.

I think the characterization here was great-- Gwen was perfect and Jack and Ianto's interaction was very true as well.

I generally don't give a hoot about plot as long as there's interesting character interaction, which was present here in abundance. I'm miserable at plot myself so you shouldn't worry about it-- just write the story as you want it to be, basically. I find that forcing story elements you don't want to exist never ends well, and I get the sense there is plot coming in the distance. But I'd be fine reading much more of this sort of extended character exploration.

Yeah, so I agree with Chaos that if you hadn't pointed out the lack of plot, I probably wouldn't have noticed. But I don't have a problem with slice-of-life fics; in fact, they're a nice change of pace.

As usual, I adore your writing style. You've got such an easy narrative, and what you've got so far makes me want more but not necessarily in an urgent way. More in a "I'd like to continue exploring this world further" way. I'm not sure if that makes sense. It's hard to intelligently say YES PLZ MOAR while watching Dora the Explorer with a toddler.
