ok I have to admit, I clicked on this thinking "oh god what sort of "let's make the guys domestic" horror am I letting myself in for.
But I actualy quite liked the way you've got the normalcy of it - jsut two workmates having a causal chat at the end of the night-shift kind of thing, and then throw in the Torchwood layer.
And the ending was giggle-worthy. Can almost imagine Jack sitting there and Ianto leaning round to look past him and then calmly annoucing the appearance of an alien omelette of all things, in a totally calm voice.
Ha, I really hate the "let's make the guys domestic" fics, too, but I also really suck at summaries, which is why this summary is somewhat misleading. :/ But you clicked on it anyway! Thanks for trusting me. ^_^
Oh, you know how much I adore you for writing this? Thiiiiiiiiis much ::holds arms apart as far as she can::
I love the little domestic moments between Jack and Ianto, they might be my favourite aspect of the pairing, and you do them so well, with that nice, witty twist.
:D Does that mean you didn't adore me before? Piffle, I say!
You like domestic moments? Hmm, didn't know that. I'll have to look into writing some domestic fic that manages to undercut all your expectations in cruel and teasy ways. Because I'm mean like that. >P
Great story! I've started a community for child-friendly Who-stuff. I'd be honored if you'd put a link there to this story and your other G and PG-rated stories. http://community.livejournal.com/tardis_children/
