Yeah... the only difference between his death and her death is that hers was at the very end of the season finale episode. So I'm damn glad that I knew about it, had the third season ready to go... had I been watching when it originally aired, I think I would have gone mad.

Most of my NCIS drabbles are done in less than an hour and sometimes less than 30 minutes. My 100 drabble fic was done in two nights (10,000 words).

I think I actually saw that NCIS episode live, long before I got into the show. I remember my mom being really upset.

I didn't think of Derek's death this way but you are so right about the similarities! Thanks for the daydreams this will bring me tonight. (:

My mind is in NCIS mode mostly, so when I saw the bullet hole in the head, my mind went straight to Kate.

Yeah, I didn't find Terminator until after NCIS so I think my mind made some kind of jump. NCIS was my obsession immediately before Terminator (and by obsession I mean I spent 15 hours curled up in front of my grandparents' TV on Dec 27 watching USA's NCIS marathon). Then... well, maybe it was because I watched all the episodes religiously until I'd seen them all that my interest waned? xD

I binge watched NCIS a few summers ago via DVD. With Terminator, I was into the movies long before the show came about.

The episode where Kate dies was actually the first of NCIS I watched (my mom got me into it), but I went back and watched the DVDs later. And even though I've never seen any kind of terminator, you made the character really work in this. Very nice.

Thanks! Derek (the character from Terminator: tSCC) was killed in the middle of a fight by a terminator who just walked out from around a corner and shot him between the eyes. I (and many others) were not expecting it all. And he just fell. After the show was over, I got to thinking about how it had similarities to Kate being shot by Ari and ran with it.

Glad you liked even if you didn't know the crossover show. :-)

Nice parallel between the two deaths. I started watching after Kate dies so it was never a shocker. I like the idea that they are still watching over their respective friends.

Yeah, I knew Kate died before I watched the ep, so it wasn't a shock. But I could recognize that had I been watching live, it would have been hard...
