I'm excited about the scope of the DT franchise, but I'm with you on Ron Howard. I'll definitely be interested to see how it plays out, and I really really hope it doesn't suck.

Ron Howard just seems like such an odd choice to me. I really hope the people working on it can do the story justice.

Howard has delved into sci-fi before (Cocoon was directed by him), but I'm kind of wary as he usually goes more heartwarming. Since The Dark Tower is pure sci-fi, I'm hoping it doesn't get diluted to make it have more of a mass appeal.
