Sounds like my bike, except no flat tires. Particularly the annoying creaking noise which sometimes makes people stare at me as I ride by. Maybe this is a flaw in cheap (i.e., <$100) Walmart-type bikes.
Whenever I want to upgrade something I already own, I justify it to myself by either selling the old item or donating it to the Salvation Army. Then I'm either recovering some of the money or benefitting the less fortunate -- and either way, I'm recycling!
That's an idea, except I don't think I would want to inflict this bike on anyone.
(it's from Meijer, actually. I'm going to get a new bike from Wal-Mart because they have a bigger selection and I can't really afford a higher-end bike. The bike I had before this one was from Wal-Mart and didn't make creaking noises)
