"This rutabaga is divine!"

There actually isn't any rutabaga in this post, but that is what Josh said, in order to mock me and my fresh veggies.

I've decided, that for various reasons, some beyond my control, I am a failure at the container gardening. I imagined yummy-fresh delights blossoming on my patio, but that was not to be. I've read two books this summer recommending ( Read more... )

We looked into CSAs in Colorado. There are soooo many there. Don't get discouraged with your gardening. It is years of trial & error.

There is a farmer's market in downtown Chandler also as I am sure that Gilbert has one. We've been to the one in downtown Phoenix & it's good, but you can save yourself the gas & shop at one of the ones closer.

I think my main problem is the lack of sunlight on the patio. At best each plant would get 2-3 hours, and not enough for them to really grow. If we get a house I'll definitely be trying again.

The Chandler Farmer's Market is always forgotten because it has some strange time. I'll have to try that one after work one day. The Gilbert one died, apparently, we tried going a few months ago and there was no market.

Our garden for the most part has died.
The carrots seem to be the only thing still alive and doing well.

I think you should be able to plant a fall garden when it starts to cool down.

You never gave me a straight answer! We can if you want to, do you think we would need to get the whole share though? I'm fine with half of this stuff.

The organic farm I worked at last summer did CSAs! Whenever I was filling up the boxes I was also so jealous of the people who were going to receive them :P

I got leftovers, like a few tomatoes and carrots, but never the really good stuff.
