Changmin's Early Love Education “Bye Hyungie, see you tomorrow!” Little Changmin waves his small hand to his Hyung after he realized that it was the time for him to go home. He remembers perfectly that his Umma told him to go home before five o’clock. Thus, being a good boy Changmin obliges and he doesn’t want to make his Umma angry. With his soccer ball in his chest, Changmin runs over the pavement street while humming cheerfully along the way to his house. He is so hungry that he can’t wait to ask his Umma what’s for dinner.
Changmin enters the gate of his house. He puts the ball carefully into the box filled with his toy inside the garage. “Byebye my soccer ball, thank you for playing with me today, let’s play again tomorrow.” He says gratefully after carefully patting the soccer ball lovingly as if it can reply his words.
Smiling, he runs again towards the house happily when he notices that his father’s car already inside the garage. It means his father was already home.
“Umma… Appa… Minnie’s home!” He shouts from the living room. There’s no answer and he tilting his head curiously. It’s not usual that his Umma or his Appa doesn’t answer him, but then he hears something from kitchen’s direction and he is sure that both his parents are in there.
He enters the kitchen and then stops his feet when he acknowledges his parents are talking rather loud in front of the counter. With his big eyes, little Changmin glances his parents. His innocent mind is wondering, he only knows that his parents are yelling to each other about something he doesn’t understand, and the situation is scares him.
“Umma… Appa… what’s wrong? Why are you yelling to each other?” He clutches his shirt and asking with a weak voice, but neither of his Umma nor his Appa is noticing him.
The yelling is continues and Changmin startles when he looks to his Appa’s eyes. They were scary, there’s no trace of affection and kindness pictures in it, only anger and rage. So does his Umma, the gentle and soft voice that always lulling him to sleep is changes into a foreign tone, so rough and harsh. He is never seen this kind of situation in their house, because his parents usually is so loving and so full of affection, not like this, so foreign, and scary.
“Umma!! Appa!” Changmin yells, eyes are already starts teary and body shaking slightly in fear. He clutches his shirt rather tightly. What happens with his parents? Why are they like that? Why aren’t they notice him? They are scaring him and Changmin knows that he doesn’t want to be there, he doesn’t want to witness the scary Umma and Appa. He wants the usual Umma and Appa.
Sniffling slightly, he leaves the kitchen towards his room on the second floor. He closes the door and quickly sliding to his bed and hiding under his Mickey blanket. He shuts his eyes and clamps his hands to pray under it. He still can hear his parents yelling to each other from his room as their voice echoing through the whole house.
“God… Please make them stop! Minnie is afraid. Please bring back Minnie’s usual Umma and Appa. Minnie wants the usual Umma and Appa. Please, God. Minnie promise won’t be a bad boy anymore.”
He keeps shutting his eyes tightly and covering his ear with pillow to reduce the sound. He doesn’t realize when he falls asleep immediately as tiredness taking control over his body.
When he opens his eyes again, lids heavy and a little bit swollen from his crying, Changmin comes out under the blanket and blinks. The whole house is silent and he can’t hear his parent’s voice anymore. Still sleepy, he carefully slid out the bed while clutching Bambi, his deer plush toy, and then going downstairs.
“Umma…” He calls out but there’s no answer.
“Appa…” Again, no answer.
He checks the kitchen, the living room, bathroom, his parent’s bedroom, but there’s no sight of both of his parents. He’s starting to panic as the thought of his parents leaving him alone invading his mind.
“Umma, Appa, where are you?” He yells loudly. He waits for a minute, but still, the house is empty and silent. “Please come out, don’t play hide and seek. Minnie doesn’t want to play. Please… Minnie is scares.”
Changmin checking the house again and thinks with hope that he will find his parents in the garage. But when he enters the garage, he finds that Yunho’s car isn’t there. Disappoints, he returns to the living room and sits on the couch.
“They will come back. Yes… They will come back. They love Minnie and never leave Minnie.” He thinks to himself, reassuring himself that if he waits patiently, his parents will be home and giving him hugs and kisses.
It’s half an hour and still Yunho and Yoochun doesn’t home yet. The junior member of Jung Family is still waiting anxiously in the living room, hugging Bambi a little tight in his chest. He wanders his eyes to the whole house. It is empty and silent. It’s too much for Changmin’s liking.
“Umma… Appa…” He calls out, sniffling lightly at first and then his cry is starting louder and louder.
“Minnie has to find Umma and Appa.” He decides.
With the thought, Changmin’s stepping his little feet out from the house. With Bambi in his chest, he ran along the street. He doesn’t care with the story of scary monsters which come out from his hiding place after dark that his Umma always telling him, he only knows that he wants to find his Umma and Appa. He wants his Umma and Appa back.
“Umma… Appa…” He calls out over and over again along the empty road of the residence. Tears and sweats mingle together wetting his face and when he feels tired and his parents is nowhere to be found, Changmin runs towards the first place he could think of with his brain towards the closest and best protection that is within his Jaejoong-hyung’s house.
“Hyung!!! Jaejoong-hyung!!! Please, open the door.” His small fist is banging Jaejoong’s house’s door repeatedly. “Hyungie…” He calls from outside. He is so scares that the only thing he can do is just crying and calling Jaejoong’s name desperately.
A few minutes later, the door is opens, revealing Junsu’s confuse figure behind. He is so surprise to find Changmin in front of his door with face full of tears.
“Changmin?” He kneels down and Changmin quickly hugging him tight, crying so hard.
“Uncle Junsu!!”
“What happened, baby? Why are you here at the time like this? Where is your Umma?” He lifts Changmin in his arms and taking the boy inside. Changmin’s just crying and shaking his head.
“Junsu, what’s wrong?” Junsu’s wife appears behind him, hand in hand with his son.
“Changmin?” Jaejoong beams, intents to run at his father who holds his dongsaeng but his mother gripping him tight.
“Wait for a moment, Jae.” His mother says and Jaejoong nods obediently.
Junsu’s taking Changmin to their living room and settles him onto the sofa.
“Dear, Changmin, don’t cry. Please tell uncle Junsu, what’s wrong? Where’re your parents?”
“Mi-minnie doesn’t know, Uncle.” He manages to say between his choking words.
“What do you mean you don’t know?” He concernedly asking and wiping Changmin’s face from his tears.
“When-when Min went home this afternoon, U-umma and a-appa is yelling to each other. They-they are so scary th-that Minnie can’t stand to watch, s-so Minnie hid in Min’s bedroom and fell asleep…” He stops to take a breath and rubbing his eyes. “But w-when Minnie woke up, Mi-min can’t f-find th-them everywhere in the house. Mi-minnie waited bu-but they didn’t coming home. Uncle, Min’s afraid. Are they leaving Min?” He asks Junsu with his big teary eyes that making Junsu melting and if he could, he really wants to claim this cute little child to be his own, but unfortunately he can’t.
“Oh poor baby…” Junsu collects the shaking boy into his arms and pats his back. “It’s impossible Minnie. They will never leave you.” He pulls away and smiling calmingly. “Listen to uncle. Your Umma and Appa, they love you. You are their precious son and always theirs, they will never abandoning you, honey.”
Changmin blinks. He stops crying the moment Junsu smiles at him and giving him a kiss on his forehead as if Changmin is his own son.
“There, good boy.” He ruffles Changmin’s hair. “Now, why don’t you play with Jaejoong while uncle will try to call your parents?”
Changmin nods, but before Junsu stands up, Changmin tugs the hem of his shirt.
“Yes, sweetheart?”
“Uncle…” Changmin looks down in a shy manner. “Minnie’s hungry.”
He smiles again.
“Jaejoong, can you take Minnie to eat with you?”
Jaejoong nods enthusiastically, walking towards Changmin and takes his hand. “Come on, Minnie.”
Changmin shyly takes Jaejoong’s hand and willingly following his hyung to the kitchen with Jae’s mother is trailing behind them.
Once they settles in the dining table with hot Chicken soup in front of him, without hesitation Changmin takes a spoonful of the soup into his mouth and chewing happily at the taste inside his mouth.
“This is so delicious, Auntie, thank you very much.”
Jaejoong’s mother smiles to the little boy. “You’re welcome, Changmin. Eats a lot okay, Auntie wants to talk to uncle Junsu first. Stay here with Jaejoong okay?”
Changmin nods and stuffs his mouth with another spoon of soup.
“You aren’t sad anymore, are you Minnie?” Jaejoong asks.
“A little.” Changmin makes a gesture with his hand and Jaejoong shifts a little bit closer to Changmin. He then extends his hand to reach Changmin’s head and petting his hair lovingly. “You know hyungie? When Min was running in the street and when Min knew that Minnie can’t find Umma and Appa, Min remembered about hyungie and then ran straight here.”
“Is it true?”
Changmin nods a few times. “Un… Min thought that hyungie and uncle Junsu must know how to find Umma and Appa.”
“Of course, Min. Don’t worry, hyungie will shoo the sadness away so it will never reach Minnie again, and Minnie must remember that hyungie will never leave Min if Min needs hyung to be there with Minnie. Okay?”
Changmin smiles with his best charm at his mismatched eyes. “Okay. Thank you, hyungie.”
“Changmin!”
“Umma.” Changmin mumbles and he immediately jumps from his seat over hearing his Umma’s voice.
He runs towards the living room and find his parents standing with the smiling Junsu, looking so worries. His Umma’s face even glistened with tears and his Appa’s face was so pale.
“Umma, appa!”
Changmin shouts. Yunho and Yoochun turns and spotting his son is running towards them.
“Oh my God, Minnie!” Yoochun is on his knees when he welcomes his son into his chest. Hugging him tightly and afraid to let go. Yunho is beside him, holding the two of them.
“Umma… Where are you? Min’s afraid that you will leave Minnie alone.” Changmin says.
Yoochun kisses his son repeatedly. “No, baby, it will never happen. God, Minnie, Umma is so scares. We thought that you’re disappeared. We are so sorry, baby. we didn’t know that you’re home. We were looking for you because we thought that you weren’t home yet after playing.” He explains.
“We were sorry too for making you scared, Minnie.” Yunho adds. He had heard from Junsu’s story that Changmin actually home when they were fighting in the kitchen and he felt so guilty to his son. He never wanted Changmin to witness the event. He knows that it will affect him mentally.
Changmin sobs. “Don’t e-ever leave Minnie again, Appa, Umma. Min scares.”
“Of course, baby, we won’t.” Yoochun kisses him again and holding him tightly, seems never wants to let go of his baby again.
****
It is late at night after Yoochun and Yunho fetched Changmin from Junsu’s house and brought him home. He is asleep now with Yunho and Yoochun at both of his sides, smiling gently while watching him sleeping peacefully.
Yunho sighs. “He’s calm now.”
Yoochun nods. “I’m so glad that he ran to Junsu’s house. I will die and killing my self if something bad happens to him.”
“Yeah… Me too, Chun.”
“God, Yunho, we should paying more attention to our surrounding when we are fighting. I just so… gosh I’m angry to myself why I didn’t even notice Changmin’s presence in there.” Yoochun rubs his head and looking a bit frustrating as the effect of his worries upon Changmin’s missing a couple of hours ago.
“Actually, we went a little bit overboard there when we were fighting. I’m so sorry, Chun, I shouldn’t have to release the tension of my works at you.”
Yoochun’s touching Yunho’s cheek. “It’s okay, baby. I lacked in understanding with you too, and I’m so sorry that I yelled at you.”
“So we’re okay now?”
Yoochun pecks his lips. “We’ll always be okay. Our Changmin is the most important thing that we must pay attention to and I hope this is the first and the last time Changmin witnessed our fight.”
“I’m agrees with you. Thanks, Chun, for forgiving me.”
“Me too, Yunho. I love you.”
“I love you too and I love our Changmin.”
Yoochun laughs. “I love our Changmin too.”
They smile to each other, lacing their fingers and leaning in to press their lips in a sweet and gentle kiss. Their anger that lit the fight between them is dissipates the moment their lips met and they were reminded of their love that they realized much bigger than anything in this world.
Changmin mumbles in his sleep something about ice cream. Yunho and Yoochun are exchanging glance and giggles.
“He’s so precious, right?” Yoochun comments.
“And cute too.” Yunho adds.
“And he is our son, our love.”
“Yes.” Yunho kisses his wife again. “He will always be our baby.”
