On Valhalla, Cagney & Lacey, and Martin vs. Morgan Freeman

Scandinavia and the World had a Valhalla tribute in their Halloween special, which is awesome enough on its own. Even more awesome is the fact that they linked to a YouTube video of the Valhalla cartoon, in Danish with English subtitles. YAY! Ever since I saw that SatW, I have been haunted by two thought. A) yes, yes, yes, other people than me can see how wrong, wrong, wrong Marvel Thor is on so many levels, and B) I wonder if somebody went as Quark? Maybe Christiania?

I once read a Marvel collection where one of the translator's notes basically said, "We're keeping all the English names of the Nordic characters, so no one will confuse them with ACTUAL characters from Nordic myths." That cracked me up.

B) I wonder if somebody went as Quark? Maybe Christiania?

Ooh, I love that thought! With Scania and Fennoswede as Tjalfe and Røskva!

Yay, I'm glad! My own fond childhood memories are from the comics (esp. Thor's wedding - "You have to find my hammer, Loki! It's not used to being alone!") but I muchly enjoyed the film when I saw it.
