half Zorro, half child stars

I've been watching a whole lot of Zorro lately, and I've found that I get a bit desentisized to the badness after a while - by now, I can almost hear phrases like "Indian burial ground" without wincing. And I do my best to ignore Sergeant Mendoza. (The badness of either Alcalde is more bearable - moustachio-twirling villains have their charms, ( Read more... )

regenesis, immediate boarding, heroes, the piano, zorro, dead like me, celebrities, rome, bugsy malone, east is east, master and commander, the 4400, the butterfly effect, movie talk, ma vie en rose, robin hood prince of thieves, tv talk, the ballet shoes, psych, angel, sarah jane adventures, den bästa sommaren, as good as it gets

Ellen Page: Lilith (ReGenesis), Kitty Pryde (X3)

Don't forget Hard Candy, a wonderful little flick about a 14-year-old girl who uses herself as bait to expose (and punish) a pedophile. Page is amazing in it.

I was going to mention Hard Candy, also you definitely need to see Juno as soon as possible, I've seen it twice and I'm completely in love with it (and Ellen of course, she's so pretty it hurts looking at her).

Oh John Christian Graas - how you made a small career off of being an obnoxious child.

I will have to jump on the youtube Zorro bandwagon and catch up a little. Meanwhile, I'll just stare at JDB happily.

He's really awful.

I've asked and got permission from the uploader to use the eps for a fanvid (specifically, to this song). Now I only have to find a way to dl and convert the eps that doesn't end with horribly pixellated clips. (Downthisvideo + Mediaconverter = pretty poor results.)

I'm a little surprised nobody from Press Gang made the list... But agree with you completely on Britt McKillip, Noah Grey-Cabey and Conchita Campbell.

I don't tend to think of the PG cast as child actors - most of them were 18-20 when the show started airing. I guess there's Tiddler, Sophie and Laura, but none of them are that impressive. Maybe if I'd seen them as something else as well.

I actually didn't realise that the cast was that much older than the characters. Good point, though.

Tiddler had her moments, but she was nothing like as good as the rest of the cast.

They're not that old. I mean, consider 90210!

Re: Zorro
O.M.G. You just broke my brain and shattered my childhood nostalgia. I used to love that show as a kid. Now it makes me want to cry.

Aw! *hugs* It's possible watching more will help, as it did for me - after a dozen or so eps, I now find it mostly endearing.

Some recommendations, though by "recommendations" I simply mean "not so bad they're likely to make you cry":

The Wizard - for the sheer lolz of having Adam West guest star as a man called "Dr. Wayne". Zorro meets Batman!

It's a Wonderful Zorro - the obligatory Christmas special. (How many shows have done that whole "what if I'd never existed" deal?) Works because it's very full of Diego character moments, which is usually a good sign.

The Word - because I'm nostalgic as all fuck and this remains my favourite Felipe ep.

One Special Night and An Affair to Remember - for some nice romantic Diego/Victoria moments, which of course means more character moments for Diego too.

I haven't watched the whole show yet (87 eps), so I don't know if there's other stuff of higher quality. *g*

If it all makes you cry, you can always search youtube for "Zorro the Gay Blade"...
