Lovely read. Very nice characterizations of them all, so real. It SOUNDS righ too, which is harder than people might think.

Thanks! I'm very glad you liked it, and especially that you think it sounds right. I always worry about language, since it's hard for me as an outsider to pick up all the nuances.

And yeah (in reply to your first comment), John wouldn't be able to just let things go if he knew someone was in danger.

I loved it. Great first hunting fic.
I love WeeWinchester fic and this one is very good, giving us a peak at what might have been the beginning of the Hunting.

Thanks! Glad you liked it, and that it satisfied you as a reader of wee!Winchester fics. Sometimes they get shifted a bit to the side in this story... but I imagine that would have happened "for real" too.

I just wanted to say I think that you did a fantastic job with this story. It was a great insight to how things must have been for John, his struggle to balance raising his children with his insatiable need to avenge Mary's death. His determination to learn all that he can and the fact that he helped others when he could have just concentrated on his own goal. Great work! I look forward to reading more from you.

Thank you! I'm very glad you liked it. I think it says a lot about John that he taught his kids to fight things that were in no way related to the demon. Sure, he was trying to protect them, but I never got the impression he was trying to protect just them.

And we'll see if and when I write more in this fandom. I have ideas, but there are always so many fandoms buzzing around... *grin*

I loved Melanie and would like to see John meeting her later when she's older. I bet she turns into an awesome witch or something.

Sshh! I'm trying to stop her from taking over my brain again! But yeah, the thought has occurred to me, so you never know. In either case, I'm so pleased you enjoyed her, since she ended up being a much more major character than she was meant to be.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it and that the characterizations worked for you. John's isn't the easiest head to get into, and Dean was even harder, since he's quiet and kind of passive for most of the story. So I'm very happy now. :-)
